According to internet analytics company StatCounter, for the first time, Google's Android surpassed - even if only marginally- Windows and it is now the most popular operating system in the world, considering its total online usage across all devices (desktop and laptop computers, tablets, mobile phones).
In March of 2017, Android's international share of internet usage reached the 37,93% against 37,91% of Windows.
"This development marks the end of Microsoft's dominance in the global operating system market, which he has owned since his decade 1980. It also shows how much progress Android has made, which five years ago had a share of just 2.4%", StatCounter CEO Aodan Cullen said.
