"If..." the new film by Christoforos Papakaliatis

If I had known you everything would have been different... If I could have put up with me it would have been better...

We haven't all wondered what our lives would be like if we met a great love;

We have not all thought about whether everything in our life happens by chance;

If every moment, every minute, every small decision could change our life;

The "If…" is a love story set in the Athens of today and with the central themes of "love" and "loneliness" which remain in our time two of the most important chapters in the life of every person.

A tale about relationships, starring two young people of today, Dimitris and Christina, and with narrators in this tale two of the most beloved heroes of an earlier era.

Antonakis and Elenitsa Kokovikou. Antonakis and Elenitsa, the heroes of the movie "And the woman is afraid of the man" by George Tzavellas, is 45 years later still together, still in love and more relevant than ever. They become the two central narrators for the sake of our history and act as a bridge between the generation of then and today. One generation gives the baton to the next, at a time when everything seems to be violently returning to that time.

A love story with obstacles and reversals caused not by third parties but by life itself.

A strong love that everyone struggles with in their own way to keep it at a time when everything around them is changing. He will survive;

A modern day love story, in one of the most erotic, timeless and beautiful areas of Athens. Plaka.

A love story for all ages and all seasons... What could be simpler;

The truth is that the simplest, it is also the most difficult...

The script of the film entitled "If…" is original and is not a remake or sequel of the film "Woman should not be afraid of man".

Shakespeare's "Comedy of Misunderstandings" on Thursday, March 1 at the Athens Concert Hall

From the National Theater of England to the Concert Hall

Tickets are hard to come by and the audience travels to a chaotic universe, where two pairs of twins who have been separated since birth, they look for each other, in a city where things and monsters happen.

The reason for the "Comedy of Misunderstandings" («Comedy of Errors») by William Shakespeare which will be broadcast live from the National Theater of England on the screen of the Athens Concert Hall on Thursday 1st March in the Alexandra Trianti Hall, at 9 at night.

Humor, puns, confusion of identities, reversals, betrayals, seductions and love, all meet in large doses in this vertiginous Shakespearean comedy, in an inventive, moving modern version with remarkable interpretations, signed by the virtuoso director, Dominic Cooke.

In "The Comedy of Misunderstandings" the characters move in a world that is completely realistic, but also in a setting of illusion and delusion. The director takes us on a tour of a city of wonders and manages to make us feel its dual nature" writes Michael Billington of the Guardian.

The Comedy of Misunderstandings is one of Shakespeare's earliest works, its shortest, written before 1598. It combines raucous farce with idealized romance and is a forerunner of his more mature comedies - A Midsummer Night's Dream, End Good All Good, Twelfth Night, Race of Love 'Agonos', Much Ado About Nothing, Storm etc.

It has become an opera, film work and musical and one of the elements of this farce is that, while Shakespeare borrows plot elements from the farces of the Roman Plotinus, is already preparing its own comic idiom with its exciting clean-ups and complex characters.

This is the fifth consecutive broadcast by the National Theater of England hosted by the Concert Hall in collaboration with the British Embassy and the British Council.

The National Theater of England at the Concert Hall

A theatrical trip down memory lane, from his Hollywood 1936, in the small Eastern European village of the early 20th century, to the early steps of the moving image and the explosion of technological wonder, is the new work of Nicholas Wright directed by Nicholas Heitner, which turns the theater stage into a cinema screen.

The reason for the show "The Traveling Light" (Travelling Light), which will be presented at the Athens Concert Hall (Alexandra Trianti Hall) on Thursday 16 February (at 9 p.m.) in a taped broadcast from England's National Theatre.

The project combines the idea of immigration and cinema, the route from the Jewish folk tradition of Europe to American cinema and is inspired by the fact that many Hollywood directors were Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. In the leading roles, the Athenian audience will have the opportunity to enjoy the multi-awarded theater actor Anthony Sher, and Paul Jason.

Δύο χρόνοι και δύο τόποι είναι ο χωροχρόνος της δράσης: Στην αρχή βρισκόμαστε στο Χόλιγουντ του 1936 παρέα με τον Μορίς Μοντγκόμερι, έναν επιτυχημένο σκηνοθέτη, who at 60 of, "visits" the beginnings of his career in a small village in Eastern Europe in the early years of the 20th century.

The masterful direction of the director of the National Theater of England, Nicholas Heitner, along with Bob Crowley's setting, evoking Chagall and Fiddler on the Roof, they create the right landscape for John Discoll's videos and projections, with which we travel since the first films, with the bearded villagers, in the melodramas of silent cinema. Much of "Travelling Light" is played out on screen, behind the actors, a production hint at today's theater's debt to cinema.

This is the fourth broadcast by the National Theater of England- after "Servant of Two Masters", "Kitchen" and "Collaborators"- which "hosts" the Concert Hall this year, in collaboration with the British Embassy and the British Council.
