April is the fourth month in the Julian and Gregorian calendars
calendar. According to the Romans it was the second month of the year.
It was named after the Latin verb aperio, which means to open, because
this month everything opens: the trees, the flowers, the weather.
It is the quintessential spring month, that's why in ancient Rome it was
dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite.
Our people called April
Flower month, because it brings many flowers, Xerocofina and Tinachtocofinides why
then the poor harvests of the farmer are exhausted, Agiorgitis by him
commemoration of St. Georgiou and Lambriatis because usually
coincides with the celebration of Easter.
