A milestone in the history of technology - and possibly the end of an era- marks the fact that Microsoft's Windows has ceased to be the dominant operating system in the world.
According to internet analytics company StatCounter, for the first time, Google's Android surpassed - even if only marginally- Windows and it is now the most popular operating system in the world, considering its total online usage across all devices (desktop and laptop computers, tablets, mobile phones).
In March of 2017, Android's international share of internet usage reached the 37,93% against 37,91% of Windows.
"This development marks the end of Microsoft's dominance in the global operating system market, which he has owned since his decade 1980. It also shows how much progress Android has made, which five years ago had a share of just 2.4%", StatCounter CEO Aodan Cullen said.
The main reasons for the tipping of the balances are the increasing access to the internet through mobile phones, the continued decline in sales of traditional personal computers and on and on expanding specific gravity of Asia in the international market.
As for developments by continent, in North America Windows is consistently in first place in total devices by share 39,5%, while Apple's iOS follows with 25,7% and Android is third with 21,2%. Some laptops (laptops) they have half or less battery life compared to what their manufacturers promise, according to a study by British consumer organization Which?.  
"Overall, we found that the manufacturers miss their claims not by a minute, but by hours. The most optimistic manufacturers exaggerate when it comes to battery life by 50% or above" notes the organization.  
The tests have been taking place since January 2016, and some Acer models were reviewed, of Apple, by Asus, by Dell, of HP, of Lenovo and Toshiba, with each test performed three times on each device.
 The tests carried out showed that only Apple's Macbook Pro actually had the battery life 10 hours promised by its manufacturers- with usage that included watching movies and accessing the internet via wi-fi.
