There are some misgivings on the French side about how to approach a new one, hotter, edition. Some talk about simply putting a GTI logo and others, like Laurent Blanchet, Peugeot Product Manager, for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with the extra addition of the letters GT. A hybrid is a sports car, but the GTI logo is more suited to small hatchback cars. Right now one 3008 GTI is something that should not be done. Ant’ of this we could use the GT logo. The PHEV we are preparing will be available with a gasoline engine 1.6 THP that in combination with the electric motor will deliver 300 about horsepower. It will also have four-wheel drive while covering the 100 kilometers from a standstill in less than six seconds'. Blanchet did not shy away from pointing out that this version is about two years away from today: The 3008 with this technology it will be ready 2019 and then we will develop a PHEV for our entire range'.
