Dusseldorf: Greek Festival with… a ton of tzatziki

140.000 Greeks live in North Rhine Westphalia. It is the largest Greek community in Europe, while in Dusseldorf their number has reached 14.000.   The strong presence of the Greek element in the region was the reason for the Greek consul, Grigori Delavekoura, to set up the first Greek Festival in the heart of the city, in front of the town hall and a few meters from the banks of the Rhine. Similar festivals, such as Japanese or French, they already have a long-standing presence in the city.   "The goal is’ first let's remember all that unites us, because in recent years the coverage of Greece was in relation to the crisis. With this celebration we are reminded that Greece is much more. We have culture here, we have greek products, we have Greek hospitality, all this is very beautiful and brings people together" said to Deutsche Welle Mr. Delavekouras.   And the truth is that the four-day festival started with the best omens, having as an ally a bright sun and temperatures reminiscent of Greece.
