Official: Steaua changed its name because… army!

Connecting to the source….   Steaua Bucharest is entering a new era, after the Romanian Football Federation approved the club's name change. His European champion 1986 was in litigation (which he lost) with the country's army, who demanded 40.000.000 euro from’ the club to continue using that name.   Steaua was founded in 7 June 1947 by officials of the then royal house of Romania and its establishment license was issued by the head of the Royal Army himself, Michael Laskar. At 30 December 1947 by converting the Royal Army into a People's Army, after the rise of the communist party, the red star on a blue background was established as the symbol of the team and the yellow color was abolished.   Continue at source ...   © MichaelidesPost.Com®
