THE Angeliki Iliadis was invited to Mes Stin Kali Chara, on Saturday morning, and talked about her participation in Eurovision with the song “One Thousand and One Nights” released by Platinum Records, but also her recent separation from Kostas Miliotakis.
About the idea of being a candidate for Eurovision she said: “I didn't have that in mind at all. It was a very spontaneous decision. It was suggested to me by my company, η Platinum, and George Arsenakos – he is to blame for everything – I immediately said yes and didn't think twice about it. That's how I've been lately, i want to do everything”, while he did not fail to emphasize: “I wanted the song to be Greek, and as far as the verse and the hearing are concerned. I said that if I go, I would go with something like this”.
About the negative comments heard about her song, she clarified: “I'm tired of answering this… A lot of analysis has been done, I think it is the most Greek of all. I don't know if you agree with that or not. In other words, in the past years, what did we send?; We were sending Greek audios; […] To be honest I didn't expect all this. Εγώ σκέφτηκα πάντως ότι εφόσον δεν έχει γίνει απευθείας ανάθεση σε μένα και επέλεξα να πάω με ένα ελληνικό τραγούδι και ελληνικό στίχο, υπάρχουν τέσσερις συμμετοχές, people have the opportunity to vote. Me and Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Ilias Filippou built what we wanted him to represent us and we believe that outside he will make the difference, among all the others that look the same every year - with very few exceptions”.
End, about her breakup with Kostas Miliotakis, she avoided speaking at length, just saying: “Sincerely, it's been too long and it's all over, life goes on… I don't want to say anything! […] I am very well, glory be to God”.
