"I kept my private life away from the lifestyle"

The interview of Giorgos Mazonakis in a gay magazine

He is undoubtedly one of the most eccentric artists of domestic showbiz, with overflowing talent while often keeping the media busy with his style choices on the runway.

This time George Mazonakis was photographed for the cover of the gay magazine OUT and spoke, including, for homosexuals as a public but also as members of Greek society.

"I was and still am shy," said the singer, while for his personal life he added:

"I kept my private life away from the so-called lifestyle, I didn't want to be chased to be photographed in an irrelevant, let's say, my night out, I don't like these. Besides, I don't think people really care who so-and-so or so-and-so is dating.".

Explaining whether he is bothered by the marks that time leaves on him, he emphasized: "Absolutely not and without much thought. The opposite. It is important that the person grows up well, external maturity to go hand in hand with internal. Never let go, if we look at it purely at the level of external appearance, growing older we become more beautiful".

As for how he himself deals with the gay audience: "Like the whole world! A man's sexual desire defines him as a public; Don't go crazy…» he said characteristically, while regarding the position of homosexuals in Greek society he added:

"Sometimes divisions are made with unfortunate criteria. […] To be correct in this discussion we need to say things more specifically. To me it is clear, in any case, that all citizens everywhere have the same rights".

End, George Mazonakis commented on the possibility of a child: "I'm not even ready to have children, nor, much more, to adopt. I might feel the need, let's say, tomorrow, but now I don't feel it".
