Music festivals raise the curtain in Thessaloniki and Patras

Thessaloniki and Patras raise the curtain on this year's music festivals. The new Greek scene is well represented in almost all its genres, even reggae, which to be honest in our country does not know moments of glory. As far as the entries are concerned, among others, Locomondo takes part, Imam Baildi, Kostis Maravejia, aspiring to transfer their energy from the stage to the audience. All this at Spring Reggae Festival and Ark Festival.

It precedes in time, the first reggae festival of the spring to be held on Wednesday 7 March at the Eightball club, in Thessaloniki. Its program includes screenings of reggae documentaries as well as music from 'our own' FYAH FIST and Berliners ILLBILY HITEC.

Studio One Story
A 3-hour documentary about the legendary Studio One, the point 0 of Kingston, Jamaica and reggae. Interviews with major artists such as Horace Andy, Alton Elis, Ken Boothe, Sugar Minott κ. a. Extensive mention is also made of the artists who started their careers from "One" such as Bob Marley and the Wailers, o Alton Ellis, The Heptones, Ken Boothe, The Skatalites, Burning Spear κ. The. Mr. The film also visits places in Jamaica such as Trenchtown's old Dancehalls, το Alpha School, το Tuff Gong studios and Pressing Plant, Orange street and all the places mentioned during the interviews. There are also rare videos from performances, events, music before 1960 as well as Haile Selassie's visit to Jamaica.

FYAH FIST ft DJ ΑΜΟΚ and MAGMA DEE
The band from Thessaloniki that has deservedly earned a place in the reggae scene of the country will be there to raise the atmosphere with ragamuffin rhyming tunes online with Jamaica.

ILLBILY HITEC
From Berlin with love, one of the most up-and-coming electro reggae bands in Europe. Two producers and a drummer create the ultimate reggae electronics, combining influences of dub, breakbeat tunes.

ARK FESTIVAL
Patra dynamically enters the center of musical events and welcomes its first ARK Festival 2012. After his very successful trips to Athens and Thessaloniki, the ARK Festival is spreading to the rest of Greece, starting from the city of Patras on Friday 16 and on Saturday 17 March on the Dymaion Coast.

On line – up Ark "led" by Maraveyas Illegal, Locomondo, The Burger Project and Imam Baildi and with the addition to the line – up two local groups of the city, of B – Sides and Sazman, the ARK Festival stays true to the bonds it has created with its audience.

On Friday 16 Maraveyas Ilegal will be marching from the stage of ARK Festival, The Burger Project and B – Sides, while on Saturday 17 March Locomondo will appear, the Imam Baildi and the Sazman.

Against the current conditions the ARK Festival, as noted by its organizers, it keeps its ticket price low ARK Festival tickets will go on sale on Monday 5 March on DISCOVER, at CITY CAFÉ and Evoi Evan. The first 500 tickets cost 12 euro, while after exhausting this number, but also at the box office on the days of the festival, will be sold at 15 euro. The two-day ticket costs 20 euro.

Except for Patras, very soon the ARK Festival will be transferred to other cities in Greece which will be announced in the month of March.
