A heaven on earth! The Keukenhof garden (Garden Kitchen), also known as the Garden of Europe, located close to Smooth (southwest of Amsterdam), in the Netherlands and is considered the largest flower garden in the world.
According to the park's official website, about seven million flowers are planted annually in the garden, covering an area 32 hectares.
The idea for the flower garden appeared on 1949, by the mayor of the city. The goal was a large display of flowers, to promote the region and in a way that will benefit the whole of the Netherlands, since it is the largest exporter of flowers in the world.Of course, the national plant of the Netherlands dominates the garden, the tulip. The best time of year to visit the garden is mid-April, always depending on the weather conditions.
