Albert nobbs

ToAlbert nobbs is an Irish drama film, production 2011, directed by Rodrigo Garcia. Starring Glenn Close, who also wrote the screenplay with John Banville. Featuring Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Johnson and Janet McTeer. The script is based on the short story “The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs” by Irish novelist George Moore.
A woman impersonates the man in order to work and survive in his Ireland 1910. Several years later, she will find herself trapped in a prison, which she made herself.
The film received mixed reviews from critics but praised Close's performance, which received an Oscar nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe a’ female role. Glenn Close had played the same role many years ago in the theater.
Plot details :In 19th century Ireland, a woman pretends to be a man, named Albert Nobbs, so that he could work as a butler in a Dublin hotel for aristocrats. Maintaining its true identity for over two decades, Albert suddenly finds her dedication to the role challenged by the unexpected arrival of a painter, who turns out to understand Albert, better than he could have imagined. Meantime, Albert tries to help the beautiful maid Helen, when she gets close to a charming but tough handyman.
