Over two and a half thousand people attended the concert of Giorgos Dalaras, at Lincoln Center, New York, last Friday.
At the concert, which was given to financially support the effort to complete the Greek school and cultural center of the community of Archangel Michael in Long Island, featuring the City Music Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Alexander Myrat.
Giorgos Dalaras interpreted, in a world premiere, the works of the composer Christos Hatzis, "The Symbol of Faith" and "The Dances of the Earth", his old and new hits, as well as selected songs, applauded by the spectators who were not only of Greek origin. Susan Lemieux also sang.
After the concert, the organizers expressed their satisfaction with the great participation and enthusiasm of the people, who "showed with his presence that he is aware and cares about our culture and the future of the Nation", as Giorgos Dalaras typically mentioned.
