The award of "World's Best Museum" went to the Acropolis Museum from the competition held by the Association of Travel Journalists of Great Britain.
He received the award last night, the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. George Nikitiadis, representing the government, at a special event held in the British capital. Mr. Nikitiadis, thanked the organizers and those who participated in the voting, stressing that with their move they opened the door to return the marbles of the Acropolis to their place.
The undersecretary, he praised the importance of these developments for Greek Culture and expressed his optimism that with this award the last wall fell, giving new impetus to the cause of the return of the marbles to Greece.
