Young and old will take part in an outdoor celebration, which is expected to pleasantly upset the city center. Music, dance, original happenings, street performers and a host of surprises will unfold through inventive acts generously spreading fun, vitality and joy.
The events will start from 11 in the morning and will last all day, converting the pedestrian streets, the streets, the square of Georgiou and the city hall in the field of carnival action.
From early on Saturday the auctioneer, accompanied by carnival performers, the municipal band and the bandina, they will play familiar carnival motifs and convey the message of joy and fun
From the 11:00-14:00 the children's Carnival Town on the pedestrian street of Riga Feraios will invite Lilliputians and not only to a festive date, envisioning the children's carnival.
At the same time, various events will be held on the pedestrian streets of the center and in Georgiou Square, associations, groups, schools, crews, while the free entries of crews of the "hidden treasure" are expected to give their own color, groups and carnivalists, who will flood the center with their spontaneous carnival appearances.
At 1.30 at noon the telalist with his carnival entourage will arrive at the town hall and hand over the paternal carnival banner to the mayor of Patreon, Yiannis Dimaras 2012, which will remain at the town hall until the end of the events, at 26 February.
At 2 at noon the mayor of Patreon will announce the official opening of the patreon carnival in Georgiou Square, where King Carnavalos will make his impressive appearance.
A concert by the band "The Burger Project" will follow, while until the evening there will be a music program in Georgiou Square. The celebration will conclude with Samata of the "Outraged Carnivalists"’ in collaboration with the dance department of the municipality's cultural organization.
From their side, the "hidden treasure" crews will have their own parade, which will start on 7 on Saturday night from Olgas square. The parade will end at Georgiou Square, where the carnivalists will present events, promising many surprises.
"In an environment of insecurity, uncertainty and anxiety, we attempt through the carnival to light up the dark landscape as much as possible, to create oases of entertainment and fun for our fellow citizens, to keep the great institution of the city at its height" said the mayor Yiannis Dimaras.
