International and local media presented the admittedly emotional concert of the great singer
Entering the courtyard of Herodion, you didn't see enough people. I wondered if the Greeks "forgot" the size of Nana Mouschouri and if the concert would be crowded.
But what was happening was that the eagerness of the Greeks to hear this great singer was so, so that - contrary to what we are used to as a people- they had come to the ancient theater much earlier.
The Herodion is suffocatingly full, with brilliant personalities honoring the great performer with their presence. Applause before he appeared, as if they want to welcome her.
And with what appeared in the marble "frame" of Herod, he was applauded for about two minutes by a standing audience. Yes, the Greeks adore Nana Mouschouri who brought Greekness to the ends of the earth.
With modesty, childhood sweet, Moushuri greeted her audience saying “
thank you very much, but I don't deserve the applause yet, the night must end first". And with too much sincerity he continued: “Six years ago, in Herodion, i said goodbye. But here I am again".Flanked by four musicians, and Leno's daughter, which was a revelation, is celebrating her birthday with a tour that started last year called "Happy Birthday Tour" and will continue in the fall in England, Germany, Ireland etc.
He sang Gatso and Hadjidaki, as well as French pieces, reminding us of other times of a smiling and hopeful Greece.
