Puzzle, which, however, must be solved, the preservation of the ancient theater of Dodoni remains despite years of efforts by the competent services of the Ministry of Culture and by experts to reverse the tragic situation in which it has fallen.

The reason is "natural" and has to do with the friable stone from which it was made and which turns into, at a fast pace now, in gravel.

The restoration of the first seven rows of seats was therefore seen by the members of the Central Archaeological Council a few weeks ago in an autopsy that took place in Dodoni and although they agreed that the work is being carried out in the right way, they couldn't help but point out, for one more time, that time is not on our side. Because wear and tear "runs" faster than any operations.

The authenticity of the material used in the restoration but also the authenticity of the form of the monument are also fundamental issues.

Artificial stone will therefore continue to be used at the lower level of the sockets to ensure their fixation, while natural stone will be placed on the upper surface for the best image of the monument.

Even after all the restoration is over though, which will take a long time to happen, the theater will not be usable. Because even if someone steps on or sits on a bench, the stone will be in danger of breaking.
