"Alonso, the best of the decade"

Flavio Briatore's weakness towards Fernando Alonso is known and once again the Italian businessman "knitted" the pilot's praise.

In fact, the former Renault boss emphasized that the two-time world champion is the best driver of the last decade.

"Fernando Alonso is the best driver of the last decade. At times he can make strategy mistakes, however, he is then able to recover, even if the car is not competitive enough", were Briatore's words.

The former Formula 1 strongman 1, he couldn't help but mention the teams and what's going on in the Formula One championship 1.

"I don't think Red Bull is sluggish. However, there's Lotus and Sauber and that proves that money doesn't make a difference. McLaren is competitive and can steal quite a few points from Alonso. Ferrari needs improvements and Alonso needs to win at least one more race, without McLaren getting points ».

Alonso has won two world titles in the last decade (2005, 2006), has finished third the 2007, while the 2010 placed second.

"Our goal is the championship"

Fernando Alonso called it an important test for the continuation of the championship, the seventh round of her championship Formula 1, who will be hosted in Canada.

The Spanish pilot emphasized that the Ferrari will have upgrades at the Montreal circuit, as they want to improve, to achieve their purpose, which is none other than to stay at the top of the standings, until the last grand prix.

"I think we have improved the car in some areas, from the start of the season and the Canadian Grand Prix, it will be a very important test.

Fortunately, this week we will be competitive and that will be very important for us, not just for this fight, but also for the rest of the season", were Alonso's words, who then added.

"Being at the top of the standings, it's just the beginning, as our main goal is to be first after the Brazilian Grand Prix next November.

It is a big championship and after the first six grands prix, we might have gotten enough points to be first, but we know we have to improve", added the Spanish pilot.

Alonso, the best fighter

They are satisfied in Ferrari, after the sixth round of the season on the streets of Monte Carlo. And how could it not be, since Fernando Alonso is at the top of the championship, three points clear of her pilots Red Bull, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

In fact, after the end of the grand prix in the Principality, Scuderia wrote on twitter that the best fighter is the one who wins the war and not a battle.

"The best fighter wins the war, not the battles…”, Ferrari wrote. The two-time World Champion has seen the checkered flag at the Malaysian Grand Prix, he has finished in the top ten at all six grands prix, while in the last two (Spain, Monaco) he's up on the podium.

Alonso conquers the rain

Another episodic grand prix was held at her track Malaysia with the rain playing its own games. His first victory this season was celebrated by Fernando Alonso, taking advantage of McLaren's misfortune. The impressive Sergio Peres climbed to the second step of the podium, while the top three was completed by Lewis Hamilton.

Drivers managed just nine laps at Sepang in heavy rain, which forced the referees to stop the match, for about an hour, until its intensity decreases and track conditions improve.

However, the stoppage combined with the safety car really shuffled the deck and… ruined McLaren's race.

Hamilton's first pit stop stuck wheel and Button's contact with Karthikeyan, gave first place to Alonso, which he maintained until the checkered flag.

McLaren's misfortune, good luck to alonso!

Just nine rounds lasted the fairy tale for the British team. Hamilton started very well and maintained his lead. However, the entry of the safety car and the stoppage of the race, they put... an early end to McLaren's race. The winner of the first grand prix, Jenson Button, finished in 14th place, since after his contact with Karthikeyan he failed to make the top ten.

Alonso, who got off to a good start was in the right place at the right time, resulting in him being in first place and taking the win, after the British Grand Prix. However, Sergio Peres also took advantage of the right timing, who in Malaysia impressed, seeing the checkered flag second.

This Mexican is crazy!

The performance of Sergio Peres was excellent, who in Malaysia, not only did he manage to maintain second place, but he had the guts to claim victory as well, filling Fernando Alonso's mirrors.

However, three laps before the checkered flag the team informed Peres that they wanted the second place points, advising him to slow down. At the Malaysian circuit, the Sauber driver was placed in the best position, that has ever been marketed.

In fact, he is the first Mexican to take the podium since 41 years and Pedro Rodríguez, who had finished second the 1971 at the Dutch Grand Prix.

Mark Webber saw the checkered flag from fourth place, with his stablemate, Sebastian Vettel to finish 11th. The World Champion had contact with Karthikeyan's HRT with seven laps to go, resulting in his rear tire being damaged and him visiting the pits.

"Second place is not enough for us"

Fernando Alonso wants the title

Ready to claim his first world title with Ferrari, says Fernando Alonso. The Spanish pilot emphasized that second place is not enough for them this year, while he pointed out that he still cannot know where the scoundrel is, like the other groups.

"There is no concern. There is a tendency from the Media to emphasize that Ferrari is having a bad testing season, or that the car is no good, because of some dark reason we don't know.

However, we are calm and continue to do our work on a steady basis. Actually after two tests, we still have a lot to learn in the final period.

Even on the last day we tried some new things, which were of interest. Therefore, after the Barcelona tests we will be better than after the Jerez circuit tests. We hope to arrive in Australia with a competitive car.", were Alonso's words, who then completed.

"I don't know if we will be the first ninth, we are working and it is difficult to know what situation each team is in. It's all speculation. The only thing that is certain is that this season will be better for both Ferrari and me, as second place is not enough for anyone", he added.

Alonso chooses Sumi!

Once again Fernando Alonso did not hide his admiration for Michael Schumacher. The Spanish pilot emphasized that Sumi has nothing to prove, after seven World Championships.

In fact, Alonso mentioned that if he had to pick a driver to race against, whether the race was in karts, either with cars, he would choose the German pilot.

«Michael Schumacher is the champion for all of us, because we respect him as a driver who has won seven World titles. He is a pilot who has nothing to prove and who is always fast», were the words of the Ferrari driver.

Alonso did not fail to make his predictions, stressing that if Mercedes gives a competitive car to its pilots, then they will be able to claim victories.
