Test: Suzuki Swift 1,3 DDiS
Suzuki takes advantage of its partnership with Fiat and endows Swift with the 1,300-horsepower diesel engine from Italy, aiming for even better economy.
The release of diesel in the two major urban centers gave the possibility of commercial existence in our country in many new models. One of them is the diesel Suzuki Swift, which now in addition to pleasant road features and flexibility in the city, promises even more fuel economy.
The Swift engine is of Italian origin and specifically comes from Fiat. With performance 75 horses, this engine meets Euro5 specifications with C02 emissions in 109 gr / km. for the five-door version (106 gr / km. for the three-door). Swift may not be exempt from fees, but contributes to the payment of minimum fees (98,1 euros per year).
It remains enjoyable
The Swift remains pleasant on the road since its proportions, the direct steering system, the sturdy frame and the properly adjusted suspension, give it sporty features. It's a little slower than that 1,2 gasoline (0,5 δλ), but extremely faster in reruns (4,1 δλ. στα 60-100 km / h with 4th and 11,2 δλ. στα 80-120 km / h with 5th). Combined with the flexibility of the model and the relative comfort of the suspensions, the diesel Swift manages to elicit flattering comments about the overall image on the road..
The price of Swift 1,3 DDiS in the most popular 5-door body starts from 13.690 euro, for the GL version with a satisfactory level of equipment. The immediately richer GLX version costs 14.890 euro. However, the price for the three-door version of Swift is 13.190 euro (GL). The difference with the corresponding one (GL) 3petrol door version is 1,700 euros.
Motor
THE 1.248 κ.εκ. The diesel engine that drives the Swift Golf is a 4-cylinder, 16valve with turbo, common supply line system and direct injection, while performing 75 horses and especially 190 Nm of torque, from just 1.750 rpm. In practice it shows a low heart rate, but after 1.900 turns has a strong pull, as a result, the driver does not have to resort to the easy-to-use selector 5 gears. However, the noise is felt even at idle, but the vibrations are limited. The engine offers fast accelerations on the go, but also from a standstill, however the big trump card is the low consumption of just 4,2 lt./100 km.
