Almodovar's cinematic style, his scripts, his characters have evolved at the same time as his iconography. Bright colors are always there along with strong passions, but the language of his cinematography is no longer the pretentious kitsch of his early films. Let's say Volver and The Skin I Inhabit are two good examples of this.
