Mazda renews the Mazda2 not only in the aesthetic field, but also in the area of ​​consumption and CO2 emissions giving it an even cleaner character.

In the small car category, the Mazda2 is one of the most valuable proposals of its kind and now, Mazda launching the renewed model, gives him even more trade supplies. In the aesthetic field, the refreshed Mazda2 gets a new grille and a different bumper that emphasize its already modern presence. Now off the bodywork, changes have been made to the suspension setup (new shock absorbers, softer springs), which have increased the levels of comfort provided.

The engine of 1,3 liters of Mazda 2 has received some improvements, so as to offer slightly lower fuel consumption (5,1 lt./100 km. from 5,2) and CO2 emissions (119 gr / km. from 125), but with a slight impact on its nominal performance, which has decreased by 2 horsepower compared to before (84 from 86).

Audi's smallest model has acquired a more practical sibling, the Sportback, which has slightly larger spaces but also rear doors.

In terms of design, the new version has no differences from the three-door. The A1 Sportback's length and wheelbase are also the same, however, the width and height are slightly increased and the passengers have at their disposal approx 1 cm more for the head and shoulders. In its basic version, the A1 Sportback will be offered with two rear seats, however, there will optionally be the possibility of installing three seats at no additional charge. The luggage compartment has volume 270 lt and reaches up to 920 lt with the rear seats folded down.

The A1 Sportback will be available with three petrol engines (1.2 TFSI with 86 PS, 1.4 TFSI with 122 PS and 185 PS) and three oil (1.6 TDI with 90 PS and 105 PS and 2.0 TDI with 143 PS).

The seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox is combined as standard with the engine 185 PS and optionally with sets 1.4 TFSI (122 PS) and 1.6 TDI (90 PS).

The launch of the A1 Sportback in the European market is planned for this spring 2012.

Toyota's Prius family is expanding downwards and the new Prius c, with compact dimensions and a distinct design, promises to deliver extremely low mileage.

Investing more and more in hybrid technology, Toyota reveals the new Prius c. It is the smallest model of the Prius family, which will be available in Japan at the end of December, while in the U.S. and we will see Europe from within it 2012 and later. Its dimensions (length: 3,995 m., width: 1,695 m., wheelbase: 2,55 m.) they place it in the small category and in particular, slightly above the Toyota Yaris (+100 mm. in length and wheelbase, same width). By design, the body of the Prius c maintains several similarities with that of our familiar Prius (mainly in the front part, in the roof arches and windows), with the final result being considered quite modern and unique.

The new Toyota Prius c will bring a new and smaller hybrid drive system compared to the rest of the Prius family models. This system will consist of a gasoline engine 1,5 liter (performance 74 horses) and a powerful electric motor 61 horses. The combined efficiency of the system is expected to be in the 100 horsepower, although Toyota has yet to announce the exact number. In everything,regarding consumption, based on Japanese – and different from European – specifications and measurements, its average value will be at 2,8 lt./100 km. This number is remarkably low, but in,what about the European Prius c, expected to be slightly larger. We will know more from next year, when Toyota will also provide more information about the smaller Prius. It's a given anyway, that the Prius c when launched, it will be the cheapest hybrid in the company's range.
