The number of victims of the flu is increasing daily: in just one week five more people died from complications of the flu, bringing the total to 20 from the beginning of December, so the virus spread period began. In the same period 94 people have been hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU) with flu, while today this number amounts to 42 people. According to the latest data from KEELPNO, regarding the cases with hospitalization in ICU, the age range is from 3 to 89 years, and median age 72 years. The vast majority (95,3%) from serious cases, with ICU hospitalization belong to a high-risk clinical group, for which seasonal influenza vaccination is recommended.
