Honda is investing in the Civic

The tenth generation of the Civic family benefits from the largest global development program for a model in Honda's history. The car has been designed to exceed European standards and expectations – to meet the demands of all global regions where the Civic will be sold.
Honda's European production plant, Honda UK Manufacturing (HUM), will become a global production hub for the tenth generation Civic hatchback. Honda has made an investment 200 million pounds in new technologies and production processes in preparation for the new model. This will be exported worldwide, even in the US. The investment is part of a long-term vision for the European plant in Honda's global operations.
The Civic is an important model for Honda in Europe and is a key contributor to its strong sales and production history in the region. For many European customers, the Civic is synonymous with the Honda brand. The new Civic hatchback continues this tradition and will play a key role in achieving Honda's sales targets on the European continent.
The HUM factory built its first engine on 1989 and his first car the 1992. It now includes two Vehicle Manufacturing Units and one Engine Manufacturing Facility. Other areas of the facility are reserved for test tracks, dynamic and static testing laboratories, but also administration and supply departments.
