Honda is investing in the Civic

The tenth generation of the Civic family benefits from the largest global development program for a model in Honda's history. The car has been designed to exceed European standards and expectations – to meet the demands of all global regions where the Civic will be sold.
Honda's European production plant, Honda UK Manufacturing (HUM), will become a global production hub for the tenth generation Civic hatchback. Honda has made an investment 200 million pounds in new technologies and production processes in preparation for the new model. This will be exported worldwide, even in the US. The investment is part of a long-term vision for the European plant in Honda's global operations.
The Civic is an important model for Honda in Europe and is a key contributor to its strong sales and production history in the region. For many European customers, the Civic is synonymous with the Honda brand. The new Civic hatchback continues this tradition and will play a key role in achieving Honda's sales targets on the European continent.
The HUM factory built its first engine on 1989 and his first car the 1992. It now includes two Vehicle Manufacturing Units and one Engine Manufacturing Facility. Other areas of the facility are reserved for test tracks, dynamic and static testing laboratories, but also administration and supply departments.

The Honda CRF250R hits the tarmac

Californian Darrell Schneider is a well-known figure in the field of classic cars, because of his craftsmanship in working with polyesters.

He is also an avid motorcyclist, having a personal opinion of how he wants his bike. And after they take his hands, he does not hesitate to fix it himself.

Schneider had his Honda CRF250R 2004. On the ground it is delightful, explains, but on asphalt it is difficult, leave that does not produce a registration number.

But could he keep the advantages of the lightweight dump truck and adapt it to road use?; Schneider credits noted designer/improvers Roland Sands as the source of his inspiration for this, Richard Pollock και Ron Wood. "All three of them are very cool. And the cafe-racers they design seemed very charming to me".

He caught the conversion and emailed Sands and Pollock asking for advice, throughout its duration. “I was never told what to do, but they guided me on the right path".

And the right way is for Schneider a modern café racer that prioritizes functionality and driving pleasure over style. In a few words, it should perform and go great, rather than looking "fast". The result was the GP250R, as he named his creation.

The Californian upped the performance of the CRF with factory Honda parts, installed a Crower camshaft and sent the carburetor to be upgraded at Tokyo Mods.

Race Tech took it upon themselves to adapt the CRF's inverted fork for asphalt use, and slipped a new Durelle Racing adjustable-joint shock out back.

Handmade fork plates increased the space between the bottles, allowing the use of a wider wheel. The conversion also increased the bike's trailing ability, as the "dirt" geometry is not suitable for driving on asphalt.

The bike rolls on Sun spoke rims laced to Talon hubs. Detail: the front brake caliper comes from a Honda CBR600RR.

The suit that dresses the GP250R is handmade, of course fiberglass. Cherry; Arrow's almost hidden second exhaust, left under the small keel, invisible at first, fleeting glance.

Honda Gear Concept: Small 3-door hatchback presented at the Montreal show

The information that the Japanese reveal is minimal, but the small extra side windows in front of the mirrors reminiscent of Jazz, create the impression that perhaps the Gear Concept gives a first taste of Honda's next supermini, or even constitute (for the first time) its three-door version.

Besides, in the relevant press release there is no mention of production or non-production, leaving every possibility open.

All that is mentioned is that the Gear Concept gives us an idea of the design approach of the next small Hondas, addressed mainly to young drivers with a modern lifestyle.

Let's hope that when the Gear finally hits the streets, it retains the striking looks of the prototype.

Honda CB1100: Finally in Greece

The most impressive, in terms of features at least, modern classic is now in our country. The reason, of course, is for CB 1100 which will only be available in an ABS version.
The mere thought that a 4-cylinder air-cooled model would go into production had caused a pleasant stir among retro motorcycle enthusiasts and beyond.. First time we saw the CB1100 "live" was the 2007 and after three years we also saw it in production. The technology that has been used in the in-line 4-cylinder is much higher than the classic engine suggests.

Can use heatsinks (new design that differs significantly from the, what we knew in the past), to keep his temperature at normal levels, however, the in-line 4-cylinder is not lacking in technology and manages to pass the emissions specification hurdle with ease. It pays off 89 horses at 7.500 rpm. with the torque touching the 9,4 kgm on 5.000 rpm. it is fed by a spray body and has two overhead camshafts. In short, it is the most powerful modern classic currently on the market. Other elements that characterize the Honda motorcycle are the attention to detail and of course its nostalgic character, obvious from whichever side you look at it. Finally, the CB1100 will be available in only one version with the ABS system as standard equipment.

The CB1100 is now also available in our country. You can learn more about this by calling 210-3483300.
