Last September, at the Paris Motor Show, Peugeot presented, among other things, the -racing specifications- 208 TYPE R5, which is already in the process of development.
Peugeot released the first images, from his development tests 208 TYPE R5, which essentially replaces it 207 Super 2000 and, most, meets FIA racing specifications. The tests, lasting four days, were carried out in the south-east of France, specifically in the Riboux region, crewed by Bryan Bouffier/Xavier Panseri.
“This first round, is a defining point for us. We have a lot of work ahead of us, until we move on to the next stage. Overall we will overcome the 10.000 kilometers of dirt and asphalt tests, until we start selling the car”, pointed out Alexis Avril, technical manager της Peugeot. To 208 TYPE R5 is equipped with a 4-cylinder turbo engine 280 horsepower and 400Nm of torque and it is 40 kilos lighter than its predecessor. The car is long 3,962 millimeters, width 1.820 millimeters and wheelbase 2.560 millimeters and all the care, bears the signature of Peugeot's racing department.
