Determined to develop a whole range «Q» models, SUV i.e. primarily asphaltic in nature, Audi has already started to move in this direction.
Audi is preparing the smallest SUV in its history, with the new Q2 coming the 2014 to fit under the Audi Q3.
The German car will be based on the Crosslane Coupe prototype seen in Paris in September, getting a very dynamic 3-door body.
In fact, according to the spy photos, the production model will gain an impressive front end, with large dimensions and chrome grille, long narrow lighting fixtures, but also large intakes in the bumper.
In the back section, the lights will come from those of the new Audi A3 contributing to the modern image, while the different colored bumper and apron, they will emphasize the off-road characteristics of the model.
Except now the design, the new Q2 will have similar compact dimensions to those of the prototype (B.C. length: 4,21 m.), while it is expected to be another one of the VW Group models that will be based on the new MQB platform.
In its mechanical parts, it is possible to see a hybrid version in the production model, with an electric motor on each axle and a small capacity TFSI petrol engine.
