Depending on the driver's wishes, the Alfa TCT cooperates with the Alfa D.N.A. system, the brakes, the engine and dynamic control system. So the transmission can vary the speed of the gear change, to control torque delivery on roads with low traction, to operate completely automatically, or to be used as a serial with the selection of ratios from the selector or the special paddles behind the steering wheel. The "Alfa TCT" transmission essentially consists of two parallel transmissions, each of which has its own clutch. Thus it is possible to select the next relationship when the previous one is already in use. The change is made by a simple and smooth exchange of the relevant discs, which ensures a continuous supply of torque and traction.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCT is available in Greece
Immediately available in Greece is the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with the double clutch and dry-type automatic transmission "Alfa TCT".
This box will be applied to the Giulietta with their 1.4TB MultiAir 170 horsepower and with the diesel engine 2.0 JTDM-2 of 170 horses. With the gasoline engine, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which is combined with the TCT gearbox, is available in Progression and Distinctive versions for a price 24.250 and 25.550 euros respectively (23.290 and 24.590 euro with withdrawal). With the diesel engine 2.0 JTDM-2 170 The Giulietta is available in the Distinctive version with 30.200 euro (from 27.730 with withdrawal).
The TCT automatic transmission (Twin Clutch Technology) it ensures greater comfort and an increased sporty feeling compared to a conventional automatic transmission combined with improved performance and lower consumption. Thanks to 1.4 TB MultiAir 170HP, the Giulietta with the Alfa TCT transmission has top speed 218 km/h and acceleration 0-100 km/h in just 7,7 δλ. But even with these performances, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are particularly low: 5,2 lt./100 km. is the average price of consumption, at a time when CO2 emissions are 121 gr / km.
The same applies to the diesel engine 2.0 JTDM-2 of 170 horses. Even compared to the manual version of the same engine, the version with the Alfa TCT gearbox accelerates from 0 στα 100 km/h in 7,9 instead of 8,0 δλ. and average consumption falls from 4,7 στα 4,5 lt./100 km. Accordingly, CO2 emissions from 124 are reduced to 119 gr / km.
In relation to "wet" dual clutch transmission systems, the Alfa TCT has limited operating costs and, compared to classic automatic transmissions, lower consumption up to 10% (thanks also to the use of the Start system&Stop). One of the advantages of the "dry" technology used by Alfa TCT is its compact dimensions, the minimization of friction losses and no need for oil cooling, therefore the absence of the need for an oil pump. As a result of the above, the reduced 6% consumption in relation to boxes "baptized" in oil.
