-You have starred in many successful series since the beginning of private television and have worked with renowned directors and screenwriters, as is Kostas Koutsomytis, Stratos Markidis, George Chrysovitsanos and many others. Which television partnerships stand out for you?; You have regretted some others;
I can't pick one out. They all had their pluses and minuses, something that makes sense. What I put in my mind and remember are my mistakes! Anyway, I have no regrets about my collaborations! Never! Generally, I don't play with the verb "regret" much. I know where I have gone wrong and where I am right and that is where I stay, to my own faults and right! Moreover, from the beginning, when you go to do a collaboration, of course you are interested, otherwise there is no reason to bother with it.
-Today, with the economic crisis, television is going through its worst period. Serials are few and far between, most actors remain unpaid and television is filled with series from neighboring Turkey. All this you expected; They scare you; Do you think the golden ages of television are over or just a sign of the times?;
Now may be the golden age, we don't know what will happen to us later! The things we desire at this time may be so bad later. I want to say that every era has its own good or bad. also, that golden age of television, there were thousands of things of which we know very well that a very large percentage was for throwing away. They simply existed to move and turn money, where this money, as it turned out, it was "muff", it went from one pocket to another and usually to the same people. So we cannot state what is meant by a golden age and what is not. For me, sure, it means having objectively very good jobs, but very good jobs too - more or less- we all know what it means!
At this moment, little can be done, because they are afraid to take risks, but -at least- it's a priority! "Trash" will always be there, they need those too. The bad thing now with the money, it is not that there are few, but they are not given. You work and you don't get paid! There are very few things you have agreed on and you don't get them either! As far as payment is concerned, it is a very dark time and not a golden one at all! This financial comfort used to exist, which as it turned out, Nevertheless, it was "bubble"!
-The series "It's Moments", in which you star, it is a neat series with very good actors. The viewing figures, Nevertheless, were not particularly satisfactory. You who have participated in so many television successes, what do you think makes a series special and loved by the viewers; Is it a matter of circumstances or luck also plays its role;
I don't believe in luck, but only at work! In general, I don't value luck very much. As for the sights, I have to say that I have participated in jobs that were in the trio and they asked me if I was playing somewhere during that time. As I have also done jobs, B.C. -Several of your colleagues - now- they do commercials on TV, of which, as they say, they are paid very well. Would you give in to a well-made TV spot or it doesn't concern you at all;
Very good money, they say, it is nothing compared to the budget of an advertisement. From long ago, when I started, there were very good amounts, but I didn't deal with advertising, I'm a bit confused by this. I want it to be like a role, to be something difficult, something that will occupy me to achieve it. So far nothing like this has been seen. If I see something that interests me both as a product and as a situation, i will do it, I'm not negative. In these difficult times, advertisers are "tortured" to find things that will hook the consumer, while in the past it was not like that. Ads - now- they have almost been made into short films, by case, with history, with a bang, with a twist. It's worth playing there too!!!
-Still other colleagues admit that they play on TV just for the money, while they would prefer to do theater exclusively. Do you share their opinion or do you not distinguish TV from theater roles;
An actor is an actor! He will work theater, TV, radio, song, dance, all that the actor is meant to be! Simply, otherwise pay on TV, otherwise on the radio and otherwise in the theater. The budget is another.
-You have previously collaborated in the theater in the performances "Greece After Aortis" and "It was a Small Boat" with the talented Lakis Lazopoulos. What has remained strongly in your memory from this collaboration?.
Lakis has very strong handwriting and is very intelligent. The impressive thing for those who have worked with him is that he always feels like a student and has a permanent anxiety in every performance. He takes nothing for granted. He works a lot, he is incredibly stressed, he always has a track even if he doesn't see it, because of his skill and experience. He is always ready for anything wrong that might happen. He is always looking for suggestions, it does not stay with the same and the acquired, he is very careful, he downloads a lot of ideas and as we can see he struggles a lot. -In the last year, television and magazines were strongly accused of the meaningless rise of the lifestyle in our country and the crisis of values that this brought to the Greeks. Do you think their responsibility is so great or are other people and things to blame?;
I believe it's all about profit. When money comes out, no one can think of anything negative, or to react. It's a free market. If there was a "window" that says this is allowed and that is prohibited, things would be different. It is a democratic process where everyone has their own proposition, which you either accept or not. Nobody, Well, he cannot accuse any publisher of destroying society. If society was really destroyed by such magazines, then we deserve our lot. I can't comment on their decisions. If someone thinks they can do it, well he does. Sure, the job of an actor is very demanding and you can't do both. You have to be "body and soul" either in the theater or in politics. Now, if my colleagues have the ability to deal with politics, they are doing well and busy. I personally don't have that ability, I don't know how to do it even though I've been asked, as with most actors.
-I know you love music very much, you play zoura and baglamadaki, you have written lyrics for two songs in the series "Airy silences" in which you starred, you have collaborated with Lena Alkaiou at ZOOM in the music show "Excellent Songs" and you have performed concerts in 1998 with Dionysis Tsaknis. -Lately, the print and electronic media want you as a couple with Natalia Germanou! How do you deal with your personal life making headlines?; It bothers you;
It bothers me, it doesn't bother me, that's how this job is! That's how the whole system is made. Try, in any case, not to catch me in their mouth about such matters. I don't like it!
