Anna Vissi : The statements about the 77-year-old's suicide

Anna Vissi was on Thursday afternoon in Thessaloniki to give an interview to Kosmoradio. Among other things, spoke about the financial crisis but also about the suicide of the 77-year-old pensioner at Syntagma, which has shocked public opinion.

“I'm going through a slump in my work, but it would be blasphemy to say that I am facing crisis in my life. I'm ok. I'm not as happy and cheerful as I could be, because I am a person of the whole, I want everyone to have a good time. I have the sense of justice in me to a great extent and I believe that in the world we live in injustice and its various kinds live so close to each other. The rich and the very poor are so close that you wonder why something can't be done. The people who caused the problem cannot provide the solution because they are exposed. They want to go out again, the chair is sweet".

As for the tragic news of the 77-year-old's suicide in the center of Athens: "It's one thing we shouldn't let go of, but let's say it and think about it. Not just for the man what he had “courage” -I put it in quotes because I don't want to encourage this solution, I just can't judge it. My sympathies and thoughts go out to this man and everyone else alive, or dies, he is in despair. Because to live in despair is death".
