Golden globes 2013: Daniel Day-Lewis and Ben Affleck are the winners

The political film is distinguished with the awards of "Business: Argo», "Lincoln" and "Zero Dark Thirty"

Although very often we call them "harbingers" of the Oscars, the Golden Globes that were presented on Sunday night (13 February) from the Los Angeles Foreign Correspondents Association, it often isn't.
Maybe the Daniel Day Lewis award for him «Lincoln» bringing him one step closer to a third Oscar (has already won for 'Blood Will Be Spilled' and 'My Left Foot') but what about Ben Affleck's Golden Globe Award for Best Director for "Business:Argo»; Affleck isn't even nominated for this year's Oscar for directing! The "Business: Argo", which has been showing in Greek theaters since last Thursday, also won the Golden Globe for best drama film, something that might increase its chances of a best picture Oscar. The political film seems to be the hallmark of this year's Golden Globes.
The film that collected the most awards was the "Wretches", the musical version of Victor Hugo's novel directed by Tom Hooper. The film won in the category of best comedy or musical, Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical (Hugh Jackman as Giannis Agiannis) and in the second female performance category (Anne Hathaway).
In general anyway, most of the films that have received multiple Oscar nominations and were nominated at this year's Golden Globe Awards took from something. The ever-rising Jessica Chastain took home the Golden Globe for Best Performance in a Drama for her role as a CIA agent in «Zero Dark Thirty» by Kathryn Bigelow, The "Django the Punisher" by Quentin Tarantino walked away with two awards - best screenplay for Tarantino and best supporting actor for Austrian actor Christoph Waltz -, "Life of Pi" was awarded for Michael Dana's music and as expected, the «Rainfall» by Sam Mendes was singled out for the title song by Adele and Paul Epworth. The only distinction, end, of the film "Optimism Guide" was Jennifer Lawrence's award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Comedy or Musical. Michael Haneke's "Love" won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
The Foreign Correspondents' Association completely ignored the indie surprise "Creatures of the South" as well as Paul Thomas Anderson's already overrated "The master". The best animated film was considered "Brave" by the mighty PIXAR.
The best drama series was judged «Homeland» for which Claire Danes and Damien Lewis took home the awards for best actress and best actor in a drama series. The «Girls» was judged best comedy series and its star Lena Dunham received the corresponding award.
In the performance category of the best miniseries or TV movie, Kevin Costner took the award for the western series «Hatfields & McCoys» and Julianne Moore for "Game change».
Finally, in the secondary roles of television, Ed Harris won the Golden Globe for "Game change" and Maggie Smith for the extremely beloved in our country, "Downton Tower".

Golden globes 2012: "Descendants" and "Artist" won

The "Descendants", the last film of the American director of Greek origin to dateAlexander Payne, is one of the big winners at this year's Golden Globes, which were presented Sunday night in Los Angeles, hosted by the British actorRicky Gervais, who unlike last year's award this year was sparing with vices.

The sensitive yet comical drama of a middle-aged man (George Clooney) who tries to find a way to communicate with his daughters knowing that his wife is dying, won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama (Clooney).

On the "opposite" bank, the category of best comedy or musical, the "Artist" – the mute, his black and white filmMichel Hazanavicius which has been on an upswing since winning at last year's Cannes festival – winning three awards: Best Comedy or Musical, best actor in a comedy or musical for the French actorJean Desjardins and music (Ludovic Burchett).

Too bad Alexander Payne didn't also win the Golden Globe for Best Director, since this award was given toMartin Scorsese for "Hugo", a homage of the director towards the cinema itself which will be shown in theaters shortly.

Another "old", TheWoody Allen won the screenplay award for 'Midnight in Paris', where he too looks nostalgically at something in the past, the old ones, good days of the City of Light.

THEMeryl Streepwon her eighth Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her performance asMargaret Thatcherin the modest but "Iron Lady" by Philinda Lloyd. Respectively in the comedy or musical, orMichelle Williams won for her work on Seven Days with Marilyn where she also plays a real person, herMarilyn Monroe.

The awarding of the Iranian director's film is fairAsghar Farhadi"A separation" but also that of the Canadian veteranChristopher Plummer who won the prize b’ male role for the film "The Rookies" where he played his gay fatherEwan McGregor.

Among the women, the black actress was awardedOctavia Spencer for the anti-racist film "The Maids".

If not all, most of these names will soon be heard again when the Oscar nominations are announced 2012.
