Mini is preparing a new hatchback version
Mini seems to be preparing a new Cooper hatchback, as foreign publications want the company to present the model to large delegations.
The information mentions a secret meeting in Helsinki, Finland which took place last week. From the attendees, no one was allowed to photograph the model, and cell phones were checked on exit.
However some information, it was inevitable that they would leak to the motoring press, but without being able to confirm their validity.
According to them, the model was presented in both a 3-door and a new 5-door version, which gathers the greatest interest. It is believed that the wheelbase will be slightly longer to give more space to the rear passengers, although it will remain shorter than the Countryman which is long 4.097 mm.
Additional, it seems that the new model will be equipped with full-LED lights, while the speedometer in the center of the body will be removed as it will be moved over the new unit which will be equipped with impressive electronic functions.
As for the drive of the new Mini Cooper hatchback, the turbocharged 1.5 liter engine with BMW TwinPower technology will take care of it. It will be available in diesel and petrol versions and its performance will vary from 100 until 200 horsepower.
