A hotter version of the new 3008 it has long been on Peugeot's table but only recently have the French decided to proceed with its implementation.

There are some misgivings on the French side about how to approach a new one, hotter, edition. Some talk about simply putting a GTI logo and others, like Laurent Blanchet, Peugeot Product Manager, for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) with the extra addition of the letters GT.
A hybrid is a sports car, but the GTI logo is more suited to small hatchback cars. Right now one 3008 GTI is something that should not be done. Ant’ of this we could use the GT logo.
