Μουσικά Θαύματα με την Ελευθερία Αρβανιτάκη

From 17 Δεκεμβρίου κάθε Σάββατο και Κυριακή στο Gazarte
 Για μια ακόμα φορά η επίσκεψή μας στη «χώρα των θαυμάτων» γίνεται πραγματικότητα μέσα από τη φωνή και την παρουσία της Ελευθερίας Αρβανιτάκη. Για μια ακόμα φορά το μαγικό όχημα της μουσικής μας ταξιδεύει μέσα από τα μοναδικά της τραγούδια – αυτά που ξέρουμε και αγαπάμε όλο και πιο πολύ, αυτά που ο χρόνος τα κάνει όλο και πιο καινούρια…
Αυτή τη φορά συναντάμε την Ελευθερία στο Gazarte. Μαζί με τους τέσσερις φίλους μουσικούς της γίνονται μια παρέα που παίζει και τραγουδά με δύναμη και συγκίνηση, με ονειρική ένταση και ομορφιά. In the first part, φτιάχνοντας έναν παρεϊστικο κύκλο, όπως στα after hours ενός νεανικού πάρτι, πιάνουν τις κιθάρες και παίζουν όμορφες γοητευτικές μπαλάντες, έχοντας σαν στόχο κατευθείαν την καρδιά μας.
Ένα τέτοιο ακουστικό σετ με την Ελευθερία Αρβανιτάκη και το γκρουπ της είναι ένα μουσικό καταφύγιο αυτήν την εποχή, μια ευκαιρία να ανακαλύψουμε ότι τα θαύματα κάποιες φορές συμβαίνουν ακριβώς δίπλα μας…
Δεύτερο μέρος, πάντα μέσα από το ανεξάντλητο ρεπερτόριο της Ελευθερίας, με επιλεγμένες και ουσιώδεις στιγμές του λαϊκού μας τραγουδιού. Η μαγεία ολοκληρώνεται μέσα από πιο απτές (ηλεκτρικές ή μη) εντάσεις οδηγώντας μας σε κάτι που έχουμε πια συνηθίσει να θεωρούμε ως δεδομένο: το κορυφαίο αισθητικό και ερμηνευτικό επίπεδο της ελληνίδας ερμηνεύτριας – και την απόλυτη συγκίνηση σε ό,τι μας αφορά…

Maria Joáo and Savina Giannatou: A wonderful musical partnership at Half Note

 Two leading female voices of contemporary music or jazz in a creative meeting that spans a wide musical spectrum...
and pierces the … tags! Maria Joáo is a global artist with appearances in the biggest Concert Halls of the world. The so-called "Vocal Queen of Portugal" comes from a Portuguese-African heritage that made sure throughout her career to be with her senses open to every evolution of modern jazz.
Historical are her duets with the Japanese free jazz pianist Aki Takase in the 80's as well as her collaborations with J. Zawinul, Hermeto Pascoal, R. Towner and others while the collaboration with the leading pianist Mario Laginha is timeless, with which he made the huge hits. It impressed the Greek public, όσες φορές παρουσιάστηκε στη χώρα μας τον καιρό δε αυτό παρουσιάζει– τις «Περιπέτειες των Μελισσών» με τους εξαίρετους Joăo Farinha και André Nascimento.
Η Σαβίνα Γιαννάτου – μία από της κορυφαίες φωνές της χώρας μας – έχει ήδη μια τεράστια διαδρομή στο τραγούδι που εκτείνεται από το έντεχνο, το αναγεννησιακό, το μεσαιωνικό και φτάνει στο παραδοσιακό και την Μεσόγειο, πάντα σε εξαιρετική σχέση με το πειραματικό στοιχείο και την έντονα διαπολιτισμική χροιά.
Με πάνω από 20 δίσκους (αποκρύφωμα την συνεργασία διαρκείας με την ECM) στο ενεργητικό της μέχρι σήμερα και περιοδείες ανά τον κόσμο η Σαβίνα είναι μία διαρκώς ανανεούμενη μορφή της σύγχρονης μουσικής. Στις παραστάσεις της με την Ευγενία Καρλαύτη στο πιάνο προσεγγίζει γνωστά κομμάτια με ένα τελείως διαφορετικό αυτοσχεδιαστικό τρόπο. Οι δύο αυτές μεγάλες φωνές της Joáo και της Γιαννάτου και οι μουσικοί τους, συναντώνται στην σκηνή του Half Note για πρώτη φορά και ενώνουν τις εμπειρίες τους σε μία πολλά υποσχόμενη μουσική πανδαισία με …ουράνιες φωνές!

Seminar for professional dancers from DV8

Tomorrow at the House of Letters and Arts
Hannes Langolf and Ermira Goro of the dance group DV8 Physical Theater deliver a one-day workshop for professional dancers. The participants will deal with some sections from the current work of DV8 "Can we talk about this?” and they will take an active part in a creative process. More specifically, recorded interviews, which form the basis of the group's work, will be used to investigate the composition of movement and speech.

DV8 Physical Theater dance group is based in London. It was established 1986 by a group of independent artists mainly of contemporary dance, while the soul of the team is Lloyd Newson. The team is known, including, and for incorporating disabled dancers into her classes, as for example in the film The Cost of Living. Until today, the team has signed 16 dance performances, all of which have also toured outside Britain, as well as 4 award-winning TV movies.

TEDxAthens with Main Topic the "art of subversion"

Innovative ideas were presented as part of the event
Another TEDxAthens event aimed at highlighting important ideas has come to a successful conclusion. This year's TEDxAthens event, held on Saturday 3 December at the cultural center "Hellenic World", main theme was "The Art of Subversion".
Prominent personalities from the art world, of education and universities, of entrepreneurship and sports shared with the Athenian public their experiences and ideas with reference point the "Art of Upheaval".
Disruptive can be considered any element that has the potential to redefine the way a system or situation works, changing it forever. From Wikipedia and Twitter to molecular cuisine and tsunamis, the world is full of upheavals that redefine themselves on a daily basis, some less and some more, the way we live.
Along with the 23 speeches made as part of the event, TÉDxAthens organized a series of activities and workshops covering a range of topics from gastronomy to technology, showing how subversiveness, η φαντασία και οι πρωτοπόρες ιδέες μπορούν να εφαρμοστούν σχεδόν σε οποιοδήποτε τομέα.
Yet, ολοκληρώθηκαν και οι εργασίες του διαγωνισμού TEDxAthens Challenge, μιας νέας δράσης που εγκαινίασε φέτος το ΤΕDxAthens, με στόχο να αναδείξει και να υποστηρίξει αξιόλογες πρωτοβουλίες από το χώρο της παιδείας και της μάθησης. Στη σκηνή της εκδήλωσης, παρουσιάστηκαν οι τρεις επικρατέστερες ιδέες.
Μετά από ψηφοφορία του κοινού, νικητής αναδείχθηκε η δράση «Urban Dig Project – ανασκαφή φαντασμάτων πολιτισμού στη σύγχρονη πόλη», ενώ στη δεύτερη και τρίτη θέση βρέθηκαν οι δράσεις «Athens Plaython» και «ACSTAC».
Ο Δημήτρης Καλαβρός, curator του ΤΕDxAthens, δήλωσε σχετικά: «Είμαστε πολύ χαρούμενοι που η προσπάθειά μας να οργανώσουμε μία τόσο σημαντική εκδήλωση στην πόλη μας, στέφθηκε με επιτυχία για τρίτη συνεχή χρονιά. Είμαστε μία ομάδα 38 εθελοντών που εδώ και ένα χρόνο προσπαθήσαμε για το καλύτερο δυνατό αποτέλεσμα. Εκτός από την ίδια την εκδήλωση, ζήσαμε την αξία της εθελοντικής συνεργασίας και τη σημασία της οργάνωσης δράσεων που μπορούν να προσφέρουν στις σημερινές συνθήκες της χώρας».
Από την πλευρά του ο Άκης Τσουκαλίδης, επίσης curator ΤΕDxAthens, reported: «Στη σημερινή εποχή είναι πιο έντονη από ποτέ η ανάγκη να βρεθούν νέα μονοπάτια που θα μας οδηγήσουν σε δημιουργικές αλλαγές. Από την οικονομία και τις επιχειρήσεις, μέχρι την κοινωνία, και τις μικρές καθημερινές μας συνήθειες, υπάρχει η πεποίθηση πως οι δημιουργικές και ταυτόχρονα ανατρεπτικές ιδέες και πρωτοβουλίες μπορούν να δώσουν νέα πνοή και να μεταμορφώσουν τον κόσμο μας. Γι’ αυτό το λόγο, μας γεμίζει με χαρά και αισιοδοξία η μεγάλη ανταπόκριση και συμμετοχή του κοινού στην πρωτοβουλία μας»

Harrison Ford : Θα υποδυθεί για πέμπτη φορά τον Indiana Jones

Σε ένα χρόνο συμπληρώνει τα εβδομήντα ωστόσο αυτό δεν φαίνεται να πτοεί και ιδιαίτερα τον Harrison Ford που θα υποδυθεί για ακόμα μια φορά τον ήρωα-αρχαιολόγο Indiana Jones.
Τα γυρίσματα θα ξεκινήσουν σε έναν χρόνο κι ο Harrison Ford δηλώνει ενθουσιασμένος: «Έχω ισχυρή φιλοδοξία να το κάνω όσο είμαι ακόμη ζωντανός. Είμαι διαθέσιμος. Δεν είμαι φθηνός, αλλά είμαι διαθέσιμος».

Ο σκηνοθέτης Steven Spielberg επιβεβαίωσε ότι ο George Lucas επιμελείται την ιστορία της επόμενης ταινίας. Η τελευταία ταινία του Indiana Jones ήταν το 2008, αλλά δεν πήρε και ιδιαίτερα καλές κριτικές. Όπως ανέφερε ο Spielberg, ήταν πολύ χαρούμενος με την ταινία του αλλά καταλαβαίνει τους ανθρώπους που δεν τους άρεσε και ιδιαίτερα η πλοκή της.

THEATER : "Fodariko" with a third wreath in Thessaloniki

From 4 January at Megaro

"The third wreath" by Stamatis Fasoulis and Thanasis Niarchou, based on the book by Kostas Tachtsis, presented by 4 January 2012 at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.
"The Third Wreath", one of the most important modern Greek novels, it was issued 1962. Autobiographical work, with persons from the life and memories of the author, outlines in a way unprecedented for its time a piece of modern Greek history through the eyes of two women, of Nina and Hekabe.
Two women familiar, full of strength and weaknesses, they unfold in front of the viewers the thread of their lives: weddings, infidelities, divorces, deaths, financial failures, family dramas.
The personal, their little story is tied to the big story, with the history of modern Greece, the main events of the first half of the last century, sometimes decisive and sometimes as a background in an emotional landscape. Nina's third wreath, her last marriage to her husband and son of Hekabe, is where the story begins and ends. A circle that closes all the passion of the two heroines for life, the struggle for survival, the cruelty, the tenderness, but also their humor and self-mockery, which is transferred to the theater stage.
They are playing: Nena Mendi, Philaretis Komnenos, Yannis Stankoglou, Tania Trypi and twenty other actors.
