"Engine of the year" the Ampera / Volt engine

The already designated "Car of the Year 2012" in Europe, the Opel Ampera and the Chevrolet Volt twin brother, gained another recognition.

The autonomy expansion engine 1.4 lt won the "International Engine of the Year Award" as the best "green" engine against 45 strong competitors. The Ampera and Volt are the first electric vehicles on the market with so much autonomy, while it is the first time in the 14-year history of the awards institution, The winner is an engine for the expansion of autonomy.

Seventy-six automotive journalists from 35 Countries, from all over the world, are the jury that awards top engine technologies in twelve different categories. The members of the committee admitted that this year was one of the most difficult so far as well 39 new engines entered the competition.

"It is a top solution that combines the performance of purely electric operation with the flexibility and comfort of a gasoline engine", said Bill McKinnon, member of the committee.

Thus autonomy is achieved up to 500 km.

The Ampera and Volt have also been distinguished for their safety, winning 5 stars in Euro NCAP. Last year, the Volt drive system was one of the ten best engines in the B.. America according to Ward Car Magazine.

The Opel Ampera is in our country but it is expensive due to the luxury tax that we hope will be abolished. However, its price will still be somewhat high, due to high technology. The first Ampera has been delivered to a customer in our country.

New version smart "iceshine"

Germany's smart presented a special edition based on the new generation of the Lilliputian model, who calls it "Iceshine" and is offered exclusively in white and light blue.

According to estimates so far, the acceleration of the new A45 AMG from stop to first 100 km/h will be in the range of just 5 δλ.

By design, the new A45 AMG, which is strategically expected up to 2017 to be the eighth or possibly the ninth model of the AMG family, it will stand out from its humbler versions, thanks to the more accentuated grille and the… safely scattered front auxiliary aerodynamics, back and side, while inside the eyes are expected to focus on the impressive Recaro bucket seats. When can we expect to see the top version of the new A-Class on the roads for the first time?; Although so far there is nothing official, the information so far tells us that her debut is not expected to take place before the beginning of next year.

Ford investment in voice recognition

THE Ford and the well-known voice recognition company Nuance collaborate to develop and upgrade advanced technology related to the already existing voice recognition.
Ford has long had a voice recognition system, with which each passenger could give him voice commands related to the audio system, the air conditioner, the Bluetooth and the car to act accordingly.

With Ford's collaboration with the well-known company Nuance, which deals exclusively with voice recognition systems, Ford's system will be upgraded even more so that it will be able to identify passengers more easily and immediately, while they speak normally at a steady pace and in a moderate tone.

This upgraded system is very likely to be seen by the Ford SYNC division at the end 2012, in the new model, B-MAX.

BMW in Paris 1 «GT»

Rumors of the British special press want the German brand to present the new 'GT' version, of the brand new series 1, at the Paris exhibition.

Renault – The small crossover is almost ready

The French company is stopping production of the Modus within the next year, and starts producing a new one crossover in the footsteps of Nissan's Juke.

More specifically, sources through the Renault report that the company will stop production of its well-known Modus small crossover, and will proceed with the development and production of a crossover model based on Nissan's Juke. No further details have been released at this time, but the car will be presented within it 2013, and will be manufactured at the Valladolid factory, in Spain, where Modus and Grand Modus are now produced. The biggest possibility is that the new model will be aesthetically inspired by the Captur presented by Renault 2011 at the Geneva exhibition.
