Volkswagen's first small SUV

Competition in the compact SUV segment is expected to heat up in the coming years, with the… recruit VW Polo SUV to feverishly prepare for battle in this popular category!

With a glance

VW's first small SUV
Design shared with the next Tiguan
Renewed range of TSI and TDI
Present it 2014

It is a given that, VW will expand the options in the small segment, not just for reasons of public demand, but also why it must continuously reduce the average emissions of its cars. This, we have already seen this with the launch of the new Up!, which will be followed by a series of new releases, which will create a new family of mini models. But also in the small category, VW is planning a new product offensive, with additional body versions of the popular VW Polo. And in this light, the moment is slowly coming for the launch of the first SUV version in the history of Polo, but also at the same time, of the first small SUV in the entire VW range. The new model expected the 2014, it will base its existence on the next one, second generation of the VW Tiguan already, we, through our spies, we reveal to you who it is.

A miniature Tiguan!

The first Polo SUV in history will receive a rather serious and imposing design, despite its compact dimensions. The reason for this must be sought in the adoption of the same design lines as those of the next VW Tiguan, where there will be more corners than ever and enough ribs. Another imposing element is the high bonnet, with the squared lamps (with LED bulbs) and the horizontal grills of the mask. In the mechanical and technical part, although it is still too early to know more, what is certain is that, the Polo SUV's engine range will feature upgraded versions of the brand's small displacement TSI and TDI engines, with lower consumption and CO2 emissions than today.

And in Europe it will be nice!

After two weeks of interruption her championship Formula 1 continues and even returns to… familiar haunts.

Teams and drivers warm up their engines, ahead of the fifth grand prix of the season, which is hosted at the Catalunya circuit... opening the first race in Europe.

Σημαντικό ρόλο και σε αυτό το γκραν πρι -εκτός των αναβαθμίσεων που περιμένουμε να δούμε από τις ομάδες- the Pirelli tires will also play, which will... supply the teams with hard and soft rubber.

It is a mystery which pilot will see the checkered flag, given that in the first four matches, four different pilots have seen the checkered flag.

Drivers' standings after the first four grands prix:

1. Vettel, 53
2. Hamilton, 49
3. Weber, 48

The Spanish circuit consists of 16 turns, high and low speed, seven of which are clockwise and the remaining nine anti-clockwise, while the course of the cars follows the clockwise direction.

Pilots in Spain touch the 311 kilometers per hour on the starting straight, while they receive the greatest stress in the third stanza, where drivers receive powers 3.86 G. In Spain motorsport fans are making their presence felt, as they always fill the stands,

The fastest lap has been done by Kimi Raikkonen 2008 with the Ferrari car.

Statistics:

Autonomous vehicle gets... license!

The now well-known autonomous vehicle used by Google to develop said technology, no it just got the green light, but also a driver's license from the state of Nevada!
For a few years now it has been known that Google is preparing technology that will simply enable a car to move without the necessary involvement of the driver, as required today.

Google's efforts are taking place in a Toyota Prius that has covered over a million kilometers, in various lengths and breadths of the earth, without causing a single accident! These efforts seem to have come to fruition, since the US state of Nevada, is now the first to give official permission, or otherwise our familiar "driver's license" in said car, which will now be able to move in the area without restrictions, and of course always with the presence of a driver!

The new Toyota Supra is a hybrid!

May Toyota's new GT86 impress, but the insider reports that the Japanese brand is almost certain about the hybrid "nature" of the new flagship Supra!
The revival of Toyota's fastest production model with the historical name Supra, seems to be closer than ever. It may not have been officially given the go-ahead, but the increasingly leaked information states that the model will use a V6 layout engine with a capacity of 3,5 l, while he will be placed in the center. But the most important element of the model, is that this will be a hybrid!

So, the new Supra, except for the motor we mentioned above, it will also use two electric motors that will drive the front wheels, as opposed to the gasoline engine that will move them behind. The final power of the four-wheel drive model is estimated at 405 horsepower, while the first estimates indicate that the model will cost approx 60.000 dollars, with presentation time the 2015.

Skoda Octavia 5 1,6 TDI CR 105PS – 1.410 km. with a filling

With just 15.990 euros that the Octavia5 costs 1,6 TDI one gets a family model that is not only comfortable, but also very economical.

Η Octavia5 1,6 TDI stands out for the quality of the joint, the spaces, the comfort, road behavior, its very good price and low consumption.

Excluding the "TDI" logo on the back and left, nothing else reveals the diesel engine under the hood of the Skoda Octavia5 that stands out for its economy and more. And this is because with them 105 horses easily cope with the family weights that usually accompany a medium length model 4,60 meters, while low consumption is accompanied by limited C02 emissions (119 gr / km) and correspondingly low fees (107 euro).

Their performance 105 horses however inevitably causes comparison with 1.2 Gasoline TSI, which has exactly the same power. The average consumption of the latter is 1,2 lt./100 km. bigger, the resulting traffic fees are 147,4 euro, while on the other Octavia5 1,2 ΤSI costs 2.000 euros less (after the discounts that apply to both models).

Of course we are talking about the same version of Comfort equipment. It is therefore obvious that the one who covers more kilometers will have a substantial and greater benefit from the choice of the diesel version, but also one that often moves at full load.

Motor- Performances: Saves gasoline!

THE 1,6 Octavia5 common rail turbodiesel wins impressions with its torque and fuel economy, while proving to be sufficiently civilized. Otherwise, is active from very low, raises speed easily, no noisy moves the Octavia5 particularly effectively.

In fact, in direct contrast to 1,2 TSI, the 1.6 TDI was slightly faster at 0-100 km / h and obviously more willing to repeat. And all this with its consumption not exceeding 4,5 lt./100 km. and be a key reason to buy.

Interior – Spaces: Stable value

If one excludes the red area of its tachometer 1.6 TDI starting from the lowest - an element that only the extremely observant will detect- there is no other difference in the familiar interior of the Octavia5. So the dashboard is elegant and the quality of construction is meticulous. The materials used are also those in turn good and show a perfect fit.

The spaces remain sufficient for 5 passengers, with those in the rear seat having enough air at their feet and heads. The luggage compartment with volume 560 liters is one of the largest in the class and fully satisfies both its shape, as well as with its opening.

Road takes, road leaves…

If it is a trip, then Octavia5 1,6 TDI will cover with a tank almost 1.500 kilometers. That is, you go 3 times Athens- Patras and you return and you still have oil, while you put 5th and forget about the box for the rest of the trip, taking advantage of diesel torque. The car loaded with five passengers and their luggage, it will not be difficult to make a safe overtaking on the provincial road network.

The suspension is tight, but effectively absorbs road irregularities. At the same time, at high speeds, you appreciate the specific choice of Skoda engineers, since there are no cruising trends and you feel very safe. Beyond that, the road data is familiar with high traction margins, smooth reactions, good steering wheel feel, positive selector and excellent brakes.

With less euros, more kilometers

The price of gasoline has reached 1,7 euro per liter, has made many drive economically, or avoiding overtaking, or by throwing the "forgotten" weight from the luggage compartment.
Certainly, there are several ways we can save some amount of fuel, while at the same time polluting the environment less. We will tell you some ways that you will save some money from your pocket.

Constant speeds
The driver must maintain as constant speeds as possible and avoid sudden accelerations, as well as the slowdowns. also, it is good to know at which rotation rates the torque of the car engine reaches the maximum value, so as to ensure that it does not stray from this range.

Unnecessary weight
In case we are transporting heavy objects (tools) in the trunk of our car, which we do not need immediately, it will be good to get rid of them. This extra weight puts a strain on the engine, causing it to use more fuel.

Roof racks
The roof rack, in case it is not used, it should be removed. The resistance it presents burdens the aerodynamic coefficient of the car, with the result that “it's tiring” the engine, increasing fuel consumption by a percentage.

Brammo Empulse: Officially in May

The road version of the Empulse will be officially presented by Brammo after a long period of waiting. The official presentation of the electric motorcycle will take place on 8 May.
Recall that the Empulse is all-electric and is based on the North American TTXGP championship-winning Empulse RR racing version of 2011, while he participates incessantly from the 2009 and in the famous Isle of Man race, in the category of electric vehicles.

The features that distinguish the motorcycle from other electric models are the liquid-cooled electric motor, its long battery life (160 km, according to the company) and the transmission that takes place through a box 6 relations. The particularly powerful (for electric) motor produces 40 KW (54 horsepower) and 6,4 Kgm of torque.
Although the motorcycle has made some appearances in the past (as can be seen from the photos), it is rumored that the model Brammo will present on 8 of May will be quite different in appearance.

We are also waiting with interest for the price, which is expected to be higher than the 6.056 euros that the company's other motorcycle costs, η Brammo Enertia (8.329 Euros for the Plus version).
