"Greek MPs, save education and our children", is the appeal addressed by the Greek visual artist and academic, Dimitris Mytaras, in a letter he sends to the media. Dimitris Mytaras who served as 40 years teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts proposes the creation of a law that precisely defines the operation of educational institutions and clearly defines their operation, while sounding the alarm: if education continues to function in the existing way "we will soon be the garbage of Europe!»

"It is a fact known to all that our universities are degraded
internationally with no hope of recovery. The problems from what I have found are mainly two: One is the interests of the professors who develop according to their own criteria by voting for each other without evaluations, and secondly the interests of the parties which fish for voters through students and students.
Because I lived 40 years as a teacher at ASKT, in the premises of the Polytechnic,
I think the problem should be put under’ before the Parliament and after study

Let the existing modes of operation of the large institutions of Europe and America be studied and a strict law be implemented to determine the obligations of students and teachers. It is unthinkable for teachers to develop without an evaluation system
It is unthinkable worldwide with a decision of the student union to interrupt classes etc’ indefinitely and create huge gaps in teaching. It is unthinkable that there is an occupation with a lot of theft and violence against the educational staff and all kinds of criminal offenses, such as beatings of professors and control of student unions, by party orders. If they continue in the same way we will soon be her garbage

The legislative power, where is the Parliament, to delegate to a university Committee, outside party criteria and concessions, to draw up a law that guarantees the proper operation and proper development of educational institutions.
We believe that the Greek Parliament has an obligation to save in this difficult phase the education which is the future of young people because at some point we will have to sweep the yards of the European Union since we will not find work anywhere, as is now done with impoverished immigrants.
Greek MPs, save our children, because the cost will be enormous if we do not hurry. The Hellenic Parliament to save Education. Pass a law for its operation at all levels. Consult the great foreign universities and organize our own. The great interest and the future is education".
