Honda Civic 1,6 diesel, the missing link

We drive the new on Greek soil, diesel Civic, with the motor of 1,6 liters and 120 horses. Although until now it was missing from the Honda range, the result compensates for the absence.
In a market that clearly turns towards diesel propulsion, it is probably out of place to stay out of the dance. That was exactly Honda's situation, until recently, since the Civic, though still decent in its class, was limited to just 2 gasoline sets. This, most, it changes, with the advent of the new 1,6 i-DTEC, of a modern diesel, of the best on the market.

Technologically advanced, features an aluminum block and cylinder head, thus achieving a very low weight. To achieve the performance of 120 horsepower and the torque of 300Nm, every component is designed with weight reduction in mind, of dimensions and frictions. Its strengths include Garrett's 4th generation turbo with variable geometry vanes and electronically controlled spin speed, the fuel injection system with electromagnetic injectors from Bosch that can operate at high pressure 1.800 bar and the sophisticated EGR, exhaust gas recirculation system, with two valves, low and high pressure.

In practice, the diesel Civic seems to have power all around, even at low revs, with linear operation and almost imperceptible noise and vibration. It is also impressive that despite the high values ​​of power and torque, the average consumption barely touches the 3,6 l, with exhaust gas emissions at 94 gr. CO2/km. This particular engine, although Euro 5, has been constructed so that in the future, with minimal changes, to achieve Euro pollution standards 6.

Otherwise, some minor aerodynamic improvements, in suspension and steering make the diesel Civic even better than its petrol siblings. New, with very good scaling, feeling and precision is also the six-speed gearbox with which it is equipped.

The car is available on the Greek market in two versions, Comfort and Sport, both with a rich level of equipment. Its price starts from 20.970 euros for the first and rises to 22.570 euros for the second (with a benefit of withdrawing). For o,what about one of the top midsize diesels in 1,6 l, there is no reason. Soon, however, we'll be back with more details from our detailed test from auto Tuesday.

Cyprus: Stolen heirlooms are returned from the occupied

With a very important decision of the Munich Court of Appeal

A big win, unfortunately only in a cultural context did Cyprus after the decision of the Munich Court of Appeal return them to the Church of Cyprus 173 ecclesiastical relics, such as pictures, mosaics, murals etc. a. which had been collected from temples and monasteries in the occupied territories, by the Turkish antiquarian Aydin Dickmen.
 
This is a case that has been pending for fifteen years as Dickman had managed to convince - partially of course - that the heirlooms belonged to him through legal tricks (!), so he demanded in return 6 million. euro. Decisive though, was the opinion of the German professor of Byzantine studies Mr. Johannes Dekker, who proved that the relics are works of Cypriot hagiographers.
 
Note however, that all the works seized from the hands of the Turkish antiquarian were 232 but the 60 they will still remain in Germany, as most are antiquities, for which Mr. Decker cannot comment.
Dikmen's greatest looting took place in the frescoes of the church of Agios Euphemianos in Lysi, which were bought by the Menil foundation in Texas but last year it was possible to return them to Cyprus as well as the 6th century wall mosaics from the church of Panagia Kanakaria in Lythrangomi.
 
Among the works that will be returned, however, are pieces of mosaics from Panagia Kanakaria, fragments of frescoes from Panagia Absinthiotissa in Synghari, like the head of St. Ignatius, heartbreaks too, frescoes from the church of Panagia Pergameniotissa in Akanthou, dating back to the 12th century, frescoes from the 9th century church of Agia Solomoni and from the church of Antiphonitis (approx. 1200 and the end of the 15th c.) as well as a large number of pictures and old manuscripts.
 
"These are works that come from about fifty different looted temples in Turkish-occupied Cyprus, which have been fully identified, while unfortunately a large part of them has not been fully identified due to incomplete files", reported by the Delegation of the Church of Cyprus to the European Union.
Moreover, with the same decision of the Court of Appeal, Dickmen must return to the Church of Cyprus approx 90 thousands of euros, which had been seized along with the heirlooms in his apartment in Munich by the Bavarian Police in 1997.

Evangelia Aravani : Happy with Ilias Vrettos!

Although we didn't know each other personally, I confess that sympathy for Evangelia Aravani comes almost as a natural consequence. What some may be "reading", as a distant side to her presence, it's the modesty and low tones he wants to keep, despite the glow it emits. A new show is boosting her smile right now, while the presence of Ilias Vrettos in her life contributes to her feeling complete as a woman as well.

You, in "Beautiful World", next to Grigoris Arnautoglou, how did you find;
Elena Katrava then called me and told me that because of her pregnancy, Sissy Christidou would leave and they would renew the team. I don't know who threw my name out there as an idea, but I didn't do any test. They saw me on Friday and on Monday they told me that I was starting. I was dumbfounded too, but that's how things turned out.

And in relation to "Mess in good cheer" you feel bitter after the breakup of your partnership;
No bitterness. At first I was upset because I really wanted this collaboration. I was watching the show, I thought I would fit in with this group, I enjoyed my time there, despite the second or third role I would have on the show. I happily went to "Mes to good joy", but within a short time of the premiere the collaboration was interrupted. But now that I have examined things more clearly, I find I need not fret. I thought everything happens for a reason and better things might come. And they finally came.

You mean your MTV show;
Exactly. According to MTV, which emphasizes foreign music, the creation of "Greeklips" dealing with Greek music was very interesting, without even hesitating to play popular songs. When they called me to discuss, I told them "you found the right person", because I listen to a lot of Greek music. We laughed a lot and so we started. On the show (daily 18:10-19:00) video clips are shown with information that we are always looking for from the directors or from the singers themselves. I like "pure" and "genuine" people. I can't stand hypocrisy or standing next to you in order to gain exposure or gain some publicity.

Something similar has happened to you;
Yes, I have experienced something like this, but I found out after the relationship was over. I was slow to realize that.   The relationship might not have started that way, but along the way it turned out that this is what he wanted. I don't know if it's good or bad after all, but I always see things well-intentioned. So that's how I saw things in that relationship as well.

In relation to the media, how do you protect your life; Recent publications want you in relation to Ilias Vretto.
I have never liked to provoke or show my personal life. I know it's normal to be interested in people in featured jobs and journalists want to do their jobs. Many times something happened to come out, but I neither denied nor confirmed. If a photographer meets me outside, he met me. It's not up to me to control everything.

It is not better to accept your relationship, to feel more comfortable;
You are partly right about that, because they have connected me with people I don't even know. It's not that I don't want to admit something that exists in my life, I just don't like to talk about my personal stuff. I'm also somewhat proactive, you know. I fear the evil eye.

And why would it be bad to talk about Ilias Vretto;
I don't know if it's good or bad, but I am not the person who will talk about his personal relationship.
