Toyota's Prius family is expanding downwards and the new Prius c, with compact dimensions and a distinct design, promises to deliver extremely low mileage.

Investing more and more in hybrid technology, Toyota reveals the new Prius c. It is the smallest model of the Prius family, which will be available in Japan at the end of December, while in the U.S. and we will see Europe from within it 2012 and later. Its dimensions (length: 3,995 m., width: 1,695 m., wheelbase: 2,55 m.) they place it in the small category and in particular, slightly above the Toyota Yaris (+100 mm. in length and wheelbase, same width). By design, the body of the Prius c maintains several similarities with that of our familiar Prius (mainly in the front part, in the roof arches and windows), with the final result being considered quite modern and unique.

With a new hybrid drive system

The new Toyota Prius c will bring a new and smaller hybrid drive system compared to the rest of the Prius family models. This system will consist of a gasoline engine 1,5 liter (performance 74 horses) and a powerful electric motor 61 horses. The combined efficiency of the system is expected to be in the 100 horsepower, although Toyota has yet to announce the exact number. In everything,regarding consumption, based on Japanese – and different from European – specifications and measurements, its average value will be at 2,8 lt./100 km. This number is remarkably low, but in,what about the European Prius c, expected to be slightly larger. We will know more from next year, when Toyota will also provide more information about the smaller Prius. It's a given anyway, that the Prius c when launched, it will be the cheapest hybrid in the company's range.

"The road passes through" at the Art Theatre

The Art Theater at 70 years of operation, wanting to honor the memory of Iakovos Campanellis, -author who closely connected his creation with the specific theater- chooses to stage as the opening play of the theater season 2011-2012, the project "The road passes through", directed by Diagoras Chronopoulos.

Written it 1990, is one of the most important and mature works of the great dramatist. Through one, apparently, simple story, Campanellis artfully outlines a conflicting field of principles and values, a battle between a fragile world that leaves and another that comes ruthless, uneducated. In his characters, who are perhaps the most humane and "human" characters of modern Greek drama, they are dominated by the bearer of the old values on the one hand, hooked on the past and clinging to the memories of another era, old bourgeois and on the other hand the layman, self-made New Greek, who, like a true climber, reduces everything- people and memories- in marketable items for exploitation and trivial disposal. The battle between them is inevitable but the "Road" will eventually pass through them, leveling that they themselves struggled to defend.

Contemporary work that portrays in the most theatrical way a world that grew up with the dream of the "rapture" only to end up lost, confused and "frustrated" in streets and squares.

The distribution of the work allows the coexistence of old and new actors of the Art Theater, giving the project a particularly symbolic weight while raising it to the historical Underground, in which Iakovos Kampanellis became a man and flourished, it provides a magical meeting of yesterday and today.

I did not expect to see a story based on Isiod's "Theogony".. But I didn't expect to see this mess either. And you are told by someone who "screams" at the "Greeks" who do not raise a fly in our mythology. The Pallas Theater presents the quintet of Dimitris Kalantzis and the Camerata-Orchestra of Friends of Music under the direction of Miltos Logiadis in a musical evening entitled "Manos's", on Monday 21 November 2011.

Five virtuoso jazzmen and a classical music orchestra rediscover the jazz version of the most cosmopolitan Greek composer at the Pallas theater.

The quintet of Dimitris Kalantzis and the Camerata – Orchestra of Friends of Music conducted by Miltos Logiadis, they improvise on compositions by Manos Hadjidakis.

An active musical encounter that arises spontaneously through free thinking and improvisation, in complete harmony with M.'s way of working and thinking. Hadjidaki. From the transcendent mood, with which Dimitris Kalantzis and Yiannis Antonopoulos bent over the scores of Manos' favorite melodies, as the naturalness with which the group's flexible rhythmic base communicates with the graceful and harmonious string musicians of Camerata, imparting to us the joy of music.

Υποχρεωτική εισαγωγή του συστήματος ζήτησε η FIA

Until the 2015 αντί του 2017 ζήτησε η Διεθνής Ομοσπονδία Αυτοκινήτου – FIA από τους ευρωβουλευτές να υιοθετήσουν μια συμβιβαστική λύση που θα επιτρέπει την υποχρεωτική εισαγωγή του συστήματος αντι-μπλοκαρίσματος των φρένων (ABS) στις μοτοσικλέτες άνω των 125 cubic.

Ο πρόεδρος της Ολλανδικής Λέσχης Αυτοκινήτου (ANWB), μέλους της FIA δήλωσε: «Σύμφωνα με έρευνα, η εισαγωγή ABS στις μοτοσικλέτες θα μπορούσε να σώσει περισσότερες από 1500 ζωές έως το 2015. Αν λάβουμε υπόψη ότι δεν υπάρχουν προβλήματα για την εισαγωγή του ABS, πρέπει να κινηθούμε το ταχύτερο δυνατό πριν το 2015».

Σύμφωνα με τη FIA, παρά τις προσπάθειες μέχρι σήμερα, οι θάνατοι μοτοσικλετιστών δεν έχουν την ανάλογη μείωση που έχει σημειωθεί στα ατυχήματα με αυτοκίνητα στην τελευταία δεκαετία. Το σύστημα ABS είναι σε θέση να βελτιώσει την συμπεριφορά των οχημάτων στο φρενάρισμα.

Ο Jacob Bangsgaard Γενικός Διευθυντής της FIA ανέφερε ότι «η χρήση ABS για τις μεγάλης ισχύος μοτοσικλέτες έχει αυξηθεί ήδη κατά 5% τον τελευταίο χρόνο στην Ιταλία, μία από τις μεγαλύτερες αγορές δίκυκλων στην Ευρώπη» και πρόσθεσε ότι σήμερα το 23% των μοτοσικλετών στην Ιταλία έχουν ABS.

End, η Διεθνής Ομοσπονδία Αυτοκινήτου σημειώνει ότι το διάστημα μέχρι το 2017 για την εισαγωγή του συστήματος ABS από τις βιομηχανίες, δεν δικαιολογείται όσον αφορά τεχνικές αιτίες ή κόστους. Η περίπτωση της Ιταλίας άλλωστε αποδεικνύει ότι η βιομηχανία είναι έτοιμη για την πλήρη αξιοποίηση της τεχνολογίας.
