The world's oldest Ford is up for auction

This is a Model A that was built in 1903

The oldest surviving Ford car, is about to be auctioned by the well-known RM Auction.

It is a copy of the well-known Model A which was manufactured in 1903, by order of Herbert L. McNary, a butter producer from Iowa.

In 109 years of its existence, it has just changed hands 5 times. It is powered by a two-cylinder engine 1668 cc, which yields 8 horsepower. It has two speeds plus reverse. The maximum speed it can develop is 45 km/h.

The price it is expected to fetch at the auction to be held in Hershey, Pennsylvania, ranges from 300.000 until 500.000 dollars.

Theatrical premieres in Athens

From this week, new shows raise their curtain

The premieres are starting to come out, like mushrooms, after the first crumbs…. From this week, the theater returns to its normal rhythms, with the new shows raising their curtain, almost on a daily basis.

The third bell is about to ring immediately in three central theaters:

Giorgos Kimoulis proposes an "Interview": He interprets a discredited, most, a war correspondent who accidentally meets a TV star _played by Dimitra Matsouka. The relationship that develops between them is …conflict. This is the work of Holman and Van Gogh that we met on the big screen first in the Dutch production with the signature of Theo Van Gogh (2003), and then the American one , the 2007 by Steve Buscemi _who co-starred with Sienna Miller.  Kimoulis directs and co-writes the translation and adaptation with Akis Dimos. The scenography is by Yannis Metzikofs. Premiere on Friday 12 October, in the Athens theater, at 21.00. Performances every Thursday and Friday at 21.00, every Saturday at 18.00 and 21.00 and every Wednesday at 19.00.  

On Friday, Grigoris Valtinos also starts at the Ilisia theater (in the photo on the left), with John Presley's play "The Inspector Comes" in his own performance – directing. With him are Odysseas Papaspiliopoulos and Kerasia Samaras, Manos Zaharakos, Kostas Vasardanis, Eftychia Giakoumis and Stavros Nikolaidis.

Third premiere, on Friday, with "Our Big Circus" of Iakovos Campanellis, the show that toured all summer and is now installed at the Acropolis theater, ushering in the new season. Directed by Sotiris Hatzakis and with music by Stavros Xarchakos, the work written in the post-colonial period, carries its pulse to today. They play: George Armenis, Tasos Nousias, Marina Aslanoglou et al.

In the markets of Manos Hadjidaki, musical tribute at the Badminton Theatre

The Badminton Theatre is preparing to host a musical tribute to the songs of the leading Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis on Friday 9 November 2012.

The series of concerts "The Themes of Greek Music and Greek Song", edited by the composer Michalis Koubios, begins with a concert event. Much-loved songs from the colorful planet of Manos Hadjidakis, as they were recorded in the discography as works with the titles "Popular market" and "Roman market", where one of the performers was Ilias Liugos.

My mother, The Cypress tree, There is a dance in Lavrio, It's dawning, (It goes) The train left, A magical city, He came from the north, came south, Paper moon, Love for being a double-edged sword, Wide sea, The mandolin, The sea is deep... Indicative few titles from the program, to be overwhelmed by the charming musical language of the great Greek composer. Yes, Manos Hadjidakis was a charmer. And this charm of his is the quintessence of his music, which disturbs our senses and thinking.

Volvo: Έρχονται S60, S80 και XC90

THE Volvo ξεκίνησε την ανανέωση με το XC60 πριν από μερικά χρόνια και έδειξε ότι βρίσκεται στο σωστό δρόμο. Πλέον με το V40 να ταράζει το γερμανικό κατεστημένο στο άνω άκρο των μικρομεσαίων, έδωσε υποσχέσεις ότι το μέλλον της Σουηδικής Volvo θα είναι ακόμη πιο συναρπαστικό. Δια στόματος του επικεφαλής marketing και πωλήσεων Doug Speck, ανακοινώθηκε ότι οι νέες γενιές S60 και S80 δεν θα είναι απλά facelift με τροποποιημένους προφυλακτήρας και φανάρια, αλλά θα αφορούν ανανεώσεις εκ βάθρων που θα αλλάζουν άρδην την εικόνα των πολυτελών sedan.

Για τα δύο αυτά μοντέλα οι αλλαγές δρομολογούνται για την νέα χρονιά, while the 2014 αναμένεται το ολοκαίνουριο XC90. Θα βασίζεται στη νέα πλατφόρμα τεχνολογίας Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA) και θα κινείται από τη νέα γκάμα κινητήρωνπου θα είναι ελαφρύτερα, 35% πιο αποδοτικά, εγκαταλείποντας τα ενεργοβόρα εξακύλινδρα του παρελθόντος.

Πρωινό Mou AΠΟΚΛΕΙΣΤΙΚΟ: Όλα τα νέα από τις οντισιόν!

Χωρίς συμβόλαιο με το Mega παραμένουν ακόμη , σύμφωνα με τις πληροφορίες του Yupiii, οι Γιώργος Λιάγκας και Φαίη Σκορδά, ενώ συνεχίζονται οι οντισιόν για την ανεύρεση συνεργάτη που θα καλύψει το κενό των Τάσου Θεοδώρου και Μαίρης Συνατσάκη στο “Breakfast Mou”.

Οι δύο παρουσιαστές, που κατάφεραν να χαρίσουν υψηλά νούμερα στην πρωινή ψυχαγωγική ζώνη του Μega,  έχουν έρθει σε συμφωνία με το κανάλι αλλά εξακολουθούν να μην έχουν υπογράψει. Πληροφορίες τούς θέλουν δυσαρεστημένους από τις περικοπές που έχουν γίνει για μια ακόμη χρονιά στις οικονομικές τους απολαβές καθώς και στο μπάτζετ της εκπομπής -δυσαρέσκεια που μάλιστα εξέφρασαν κατά την συνάντησή τους με τον Πέτρο Μπούτο που πραγματοποιήθηκε την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα.

In between, tomorrow, Wednesday, θα πραγματοποιηθεί η δεύτερη οντισιόν για την ανεύρεση του νέου συνεργάτη της εκπομπής, και σε αυτήν θα πάρουν μέρος κυρίως μοντέλα, while, σύμφωνα με αποκλειστικές πληροφορίες του Yupiii, από την πρώτη οντισιόν τα στελέχη του Μega αλλά και της εκπομπής δεν έμειναν απολύτως ευχαριστημένα: “Αυτό που από την αρχή επιθυμούσαμε ήταν το άτομο που θα βρεθεί να είναι ένα φρέσκο πρόσωπο που να έχει άνεση, χιούμορ και έξυπνη ατάκα” αναφέρει πηγή από το κανάλι.

Όσον αφορά στην πρώτη ημέρα των οντισιόν και στα άτομα που συμμετείχαν σε αυτή, έχουν ήδη γραφτεί τα ονόματα των Άννα Πρέλεβιτς, Λάουρα Νάργες, Αναστασία Περράκη και Άλκηστη Ανυφαντή, ενώ επίσης πήραν μέρος δύο μοντέλα και μία παρουσιάστρια από το MAD.  Σύμφωνα όμως με το ρεπορτάζ του Yupiii, από οντισιόν πέρασε και η Μελίνα Κόκκορη – η οποία είχε περάσει από οντισιόν και για την εκπομπή της Ελένης Μενεγάκη- αλλά και ο συμπαρουσιαστής του Δημήτρη Ουγγαρέζου στο ραδιόφωνο του MAD.

End, “παίζει” έντονα και το όνομα της Φλορίντας Πετρουτσέλι, η οποία όπως είχαμε γράψει αποκλειστικά χθες, συζήτησε με στελέχη του Mega για την παρουσία της στο Πρωινό Mou.

Lisa Doukakarou : She lost her husband

Δύσκολες στιγμές για τη Λίζα Δουκακάρου, αφού το απόγευμα της Κυριακής έχασε τον σύζυγό της, Στέλιο Εμβαλωμένο.

Ο 59χρονος επιχειρηματίας ένιωσε μια ξαφνική αδιαθεσία. Αν και μεταφέρθηκε εσπευσμένα σε ιδιωτικό θεραπευτήριο, τελικά δεν κατάφερε να κρατηθεί στη ζωή. Όπως έγινε γνωστό, είχε υποστεί καρδιακή προσβολή.

Στο πλευρό της γνωστής δημοσιογράφου βρέθηκε από την πρώτη στιγμή η Πόπη Τσαπανίδου, που διατηρούσε στενή φιλική σχέση με το ζευγάρι.

Η Λίζα Δουκακάρου και ο Στέλιος Εμβαλωμένος ήταν παντρεμένοι για 22 years. Η κηδεία του αναμένεται να γίνει την ερχόμενη Τετάρτη.

BMW Series 1: The family is growing

The Series now offers two options at body level 1 BMW strengthens its presence in the premium category of small and medium hatchbacks, meeting the requirements of both those who seek the practicality of the 5-door body and those who prefer the dynamism of a 3-door.

At the same time a strong paper of the German proposal is the very wide range of petrol and diesel engines of TwinPower technology with variable geometry supercharging, direct spray which exploits the advantages of the Efficient Dynamics philosophy, which optimizes the energy utilization of all car subsystems, combine high efficiency with fuel economy and low emissions.

At the level of gasoline engines, the basic version of the BMW Series 1 is the new 114i which is driven by the supercharger 1.6 TwinPower with 102 horsepower while more powerful versions of the same engine with 136 and 170 horses are housed under the hood of the 116i and 118i respectively.

More sporty and driver-centric profile but also more emphasis on performance are given by the larger versions and more specifically the 125i with the two-liter TwinPower that for the occasion will deliver 218 horsepower while the top version will be the M 135i which is the first petrol proposal of the M Performance family which was created to fill the gap between the conventional versions and the purebred M.

Among the upgrades bearing the signature of section M, The M 135i has a suspension with different geometry and individual settings, harder damping characteristics and lower by 10 mm. height while the three-liter six-cylinder Twin Power housed under the hood now reaches 320 horsepower (from the 306 of the simple version) thanks to the improved cooling system and different mapping.

In everything,In terms of diesel versions, the smaller 116d EfficientDynamics with TwinPower engine is of particular interest 1.6 liter 116 horses with an average consumption of 3.8 liters / 100km. and emissions just 99 gr / km.

Beyond that the larger two-liter TwinPower diesel engine in various performance versions is responsible for driving the rest of the versions.

Specifically at 116d and 118d it performs respectively 116 and 143 horses while at the larger 120d and 125d it reaches them 184 and 218 horses respectively.

Important innovation for the Series 1 is the adoption for the first time in the history of the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive model which through electronically controlled power distribution between the front and rear axle ensures maximum traction depending on road conditions.

The xDrive system will be offered in both the five-door and the three-door Series 1 in the 120d version but also the M135i which thanks to the advantage of the upgraded traction and the optimization of the transfer of power on the road offers even more explosive performance compared to the rear-wheel drive version such as the just 4,7 δλ. needed for 0-100 km / h (rear-wheel drive 4,9 δλ.) with standard automatic sports gearbox 8 relations.
