J. EDGAR
Case : Ως ο εκπρόσωπος της επιβολής του νόμου στην Αμερική για περίπου 50 years, ο Τζέι Έντγκαρ Χούβερ ενέπνεε τον φόβο και τον θαυμασμό, ενώ τις πράξεις του άλλοι τις καταδίκασαν και άλλοι τις εκθείασαν. Πίσω όμως, από τις κλειστές πόρτες, υπήρχαν μυστικά που αν διέρρεαν θα κατέστρεφαν την εικόνα, την καριέρα και τη ζωή του. Ο υποψήφιος για Όσκαρ Λεονάρντο ΝτιΚάπριο (“Inception”, “Blood Diamond”) πρωταγωνιστεί στον ομώνυμο ρόλο της ταινίας “J. ΤΟ ΑΛΟΓΟ ΤΟΥ ΠΟΛΕΜΟΥ(WAR HORSE)
Case : Λίγο μετά το ξέσπασμα του Α’ World War, ο Άλμπερτ, ένας έφηβος που ζει σε μια φάρμα στη βρετανική ύπαιθρο, πληροφορείται πως ο πατέρας του αποφάσισε να πουλήσει τον Τζόι, το αγαπημένο του άλογο, στο βρετανικό ιππικό. Πολύ σύντομα, ο Τζόι καταλήγει στην πρώτη γραμμή του γαλλικού μετώπου, όπου ως δια μαγείας αλλάζει τις ζωές των ανθρώπων με τους οποίους έρχεται σε επαφή. Πίσω στην Αγγλία, however, ο Άλμπερτ, νιώθοντας πως έχει χάσει έναν πολύ καλό φίλο, αποφασίζει να αψηφήσει τις επιταγές της μοίρας και να καταταγεί στον στρατό, με την ελπίδα να τον ξαναβρεί…

Η ΠΙΟ ΣΚΟΤΕΙΝΗ ΩΡΑ(THE DARKEST HOUR)
Case : Μετά από μια ανεξήγητη παγκόσμια καταστροφή, οι ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές σταματούν να λειτουργούν σε όλα τα μέρη του κόσμου. Μια ομάδα Αμερικανών και Βρετανών, που έχουν επισκεφθεί τη Μόσχα, βρίσκονται παγιδευμένοι στην πόλη. Το πραγματικό χάος ξεκινά, όταν μια άγνωστη δύναμη αρχίζει να καταδιώκει τον ανθρώπινο πληθυσμό. Τα μέλη της ομάδας βρίσκουν καταφύγιο κάτω από τη γη και προσπαθούν να επιβιώσουν με κάθε τρόπο. Πέντε μέρες αργότερα φτάνουν σε μια στοιχειωμένη πόλη, που κάποτε έσφυζε από ζωή, όσο όμως ψάχνουν για άλλους επιζήσαντες, γίνεται ξεκάθαρο ότι η απειλή είναι ακόμη ορατή. Now, για να καταφέρουν να σωθούν, θα πρέπει να προσαρμοστούν και να λειτουργήσουν σαν ομάδα.

The Melas-Papadopoulos gallery opens with an exhibition by G. Sagri

The first official exhibition of the new Melas-Papadopoulou gallery is the presentation of the artist Georgia Sagri, who many remember from her performance some years ago outside the Polytechnic, which had also occupied the Greek news.

Sagri began by recycling and translating visual practices of female artists of the 70s and 80s, (like Mona Hatoum, Marina Abramovic and Orlan) and in the years that followed he continued experimenting on the platform of performance but also trying other media. Lately it seems that she has found her own personal identity that has matured her work and made it interesting. THE “migration” her time in America has done her good and now a path is emerging that is probably worth watching carefully.
For her first exhibition at the Andreas Melas gallery & Helena Papadopoulos, Georgia Sagri presents a flexible composition of Courtyards where plants grow, plastic and ceramic objects appear, actions are outlined and reproduced by the artist in the performance that will take place in the gallery, for three consecutive nights.

A double no or a double yes, μία στρατηγική για να ξανα οικειοποιησης. Οι Αυλές, μεταβλητά ξύλινα κουτιά με αρωματικά φυτά, διασκορπισμένα γλυπτά και προσαρτημένα παγκάκια, αναφέρονται σε έναν κλειστό τόπο, σε μία σκηνή όπου ηθοποιός και θεατής υπάγονται σε ήδη σχηματισμένες αφηγηματικές δομές.
However, η Σαγρή, σε μία προσπάθεια να παρακάμψει την τραγική πτώση των κοινωνικών και πολιτικών φαντασιώσεων, προσφέρει το γεγονός του έρωτα του Γάλλου φιλόσοφου Alain Badiou – ο έρωτας ως υλικό και ως πρακτική ενσωμάτωση δημιουργίας θαυμάτων –σαν ένα πιθανό χώρο γιά την παραγωγή αλήθειας. Η έκθεση Αυλές περιλαμβάνει μία εγκατάσταση, παράσταση/loop, μία PowerPoint παρουσίαση, μια σειρά απο σχέδια/κολλάζ και μία συλλογή κειμένων της καλλιτέχνιδας. Η Γεωργία Σαγρή γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα το 1979. Ζει και εργάζεται στην Νέα Υόρκη.

The Patras Carnival begins

Τελετή έναρξης το Σάββατο
Οι Πατρινοί φοράνε τα γιορτινά τους και ετοιμάζουν τις εκδηλώσεις για το πατρινό καρναβάλι με την τελετή έναρξης να έχει προγραμματιστεί για το Σάββατο.

Μικροί και μεγάλοι θα πάρουν μέρος σε μία υπαίθρια γιορτή, που αναμένεται να αναστατώσει ευχάριστα το κέντρο της πόλης. Music, dance, πρωτότυπα χάπενινγκς, καλλιτέχνες δρόμου και πλήθος εκπλήξεων θα ξετυλιχτούν μέσα από ευρηματικά δρώμενα μεταδίδοντας απλόχερα κέφι, ζωντάνια και χαρά.

Οι εκδηλώσεις θα ξεκινήσουν από τις 11 το πρωί και θα διαρκέσουν όλη τη μέρα, μετατρέποντας τους πεζόδρομους, τους δρόμους, την πλατεία Γεωργίου και το δημαρχείο της πόλης σε πεδίο καρναβαλικής δράσης.

Από νωρίς το Σάββατο ο τελάλης, με συνοδεία καρναβαλιστών, την μπάντα του δήμου και την μπαντίνα, θα παιανίζουν γνωστούς αποκριάτικους σκοπούς και θα μεταφέρουν το μήνυμα της χαράς και του κεφιού

From the 11:00-14:00  η παιδική Καρναβαλούπολη στον πεζόδρομο της Ρήγα Φεραίου θα καλεί λιλιπούτειους και όχι μόνο σε ένα πανηγυρικό ραντεβού προϊδεάζοντας για το καρναβάλι των παιδιών.

Την ίδια ώρα στους πεζόδρομους του κέντρου και στην πλατεία Γεωργίου θα γίνονται διάφορες εκδηλώσεις από φορείς, συλλόγους, ομάδες, σχολές, πληρώματα, ενώ το δικό τους χρώμα αναμένεται να δώσουν οι ελεύθερες συμμετοχές πληρωμάτων του «κρυμμένου θησαυρού», ομάδων και καρναβαλιστών, που θα πλημμυρίσουν το κέντρο με τις αυθόρμητες καρναβαλικές εμφανίσεις τους.

At 1.30 το μεσημέρι ο τελάλης με την καρναβαλική συνοδεία του θα καταλήξουν στο δημαρχιακό μέγαρο και θα παραδώσουν στο δήμαρχο Πατρέων Γιάννη Δημαρά το λάβαρο του πατρινού καρναβαλιού 2012, το οποίο και θα παραμείνει στο δημαρχείο μέχρι το τέλος των εκδηλώσεων, at 26 February.

At 2 το μεσημέρι ο δήμαρχος Πατρέων θα κηρύξει την επίσημη έναρξη του πατρινού καρναβαλιού στην πλατεία Γεωργίου, όπου και θα κάνει την εντυπωσιακή εμφάνισή του ο βασιλιάς Καρνάβαλος.

Θα ακολουθήσει συναυλία από το συγκρότημα «The Burger Project», ενώ μέχρι το βράδυ θα υπάρχει μουσικό πρόγραμμα στην πλατεία Γεωργίου. Η γιορτή θα ολοκληρωθεί με τον Samata των «Αγανακτισμένων Καρναβαλιστών»’ σε συνεργασία με το χορευτικό τμήμα του πολιτιστικού οργανισμού του δήμου.

From their side, τα πληρώματα του «κρυμμένου θησαυρού» θα κάνουν την δική τους παρέλαση, που θα ξεκινήσει στις 7 το βράδυ του Σαββάτου από την πλατεία Όλγας. Η παρέλαση θα καταλήξει στην πλατεία Γεωργίου, όπου οι καρναβαλιστές θα παρουσιάσουν δρώμενα, υποσχόμενοι πολλές εκπλήξεις.

«Σε ένα περιβάλλον ανασφάλειας, αβεβαιότητας και αγωνίας, επιχειρούμε μέσα από το καρναβάλι να φωτίσουμε όσο γίνεται το σκοτεινό τοπίο, να δημιουργήσουμε οάσεις ψυχαγωγίας και διασκέδασης στους συμπολίτες μας, να κρατήσουμε το μεγάλο θεσμό της πόλης στο ύψος του» δήλωσε ο δήμαρχος Γιάννης Δημαράς.

Yiannis Parios sings of love at the Concert Hall

THEYannis Parios top performer, in a very short time since the beginning of his career, he has been established in the consciousness of all of us as an expression of love and romance. His voice as well as his soul advocated and led him along the paths of this supreme human emotion.
This year filling in exactly 40 years of artistic presence, and in the midst of an unprecedented bad situation for the country, he wanted to lead us to the oasis of music and remind us of all that the "Love Song" has been offering us for so many years. Not as a parenthesis in judgment, but as a positive exhortation to the truth... Because what else is more important in the course of a lifetime than the human relationship, companionship love, love.
Songs he loved as a child,  since he was lucky enough to be born into a beautiful family bathed in the light of the Aegean, songs of great creators of past decades, as of X. Hairopoulou, Attic, K. Giannidis, Suyulbut also favorite songs of his own generation, that moved and crossed our lips and hearts.

In the late 1970s he began singing with Thad Jones and Mel Lewis' orchestra and then played with the cream of modern jazz musicians such as Don Pullen, Kip Hanrahan, Courtney Pine et al. In the mid-eighties she started releasing her own music and that's when her enormous talent was noticed. Since then Carmen Lundy's career has continued to develop at all levels and today she is considered one of the leading jazzwomen…

«Click… in History" from the Foundation of Greater Hellenism

"Click... in History" is a new one, innovative educational program carried out by the Greater Hellenic Foundation with the cooperation of Vodafone. The purpose of the program is to highlight local history through the eyes of the students, harnessing the unlimited possibilities of mobile communication in modern education. The program is aimed at high school students and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religion. As the special secretary of the Ministry of Education, Michalis Kontogiannis, said in a presentation of the program, the cognitive approach via mobile phone and computer is a key priority and challenge for the era.

The program takes full advantage of the digital environment in which young people move today, putting digital technology at the service of education. As part of the program, the students, equipped with a mobile phone used as a camera, camera and voice recorder, they become "reporters of history". They explore the city, their neighborhood and village, collect evidence from family photo albums, cultural institutions and public records, and make their own audio-visual presentations.

The audio-visual research material is sent via the Vodafone network to the http web platform://local.e-history.gr/ which has been designed specifically for the program, in such a way as to be the tool for presenting students' work to parents, the school community and the general public. Το πρόγραμμα αξιοποιεί μεθόδους που κεντρίζουν το ενδιαφέρον των μαθητών, at the same time giving the school community the opportunity to take an active role in the local community and to present its work in continuous dialogue with other school communities.

The "Click... in History" program, with the continuous cooperation of students, teachers and researchers of the Greater Hellenistic Foundation, makes an important contribution to educating students about how research is conducted, while also helping to acquire skills in composing a paper in electronic format with a method that gains the attention of students. End, trains students to work collaboratively, since they create groups, within which they must collaborate to shape the final work.

The program "Click… in History" was not only "embraced" by the Ministry of Education, τους εκπαιδευτικούς και τους μαθητές που συμμετείχαν στην πιλοτική φάση του, αλλά συνεχίζεται σε ακόμη μεγαλύτερη κλίμακα, με ακόμη περισσότερους συμμετέχοντες και ακόμη μεγαλύτερη ευθύνη απέναντι στο έργο μας».

Η κα Αγγελική Παπαντωνίου, Διευθύντρια Εταιρικών Σχέσεων της Vodafone, δήλωσε σχετικά με το πρόγραμμα: "Click... in History" is proof that the contribution of technology to the educational process can be essential. The students, αξιοποιώντας τις δυνατότητες που προσφέρει η τεχνολογία σε όλη την Ελλάδα, έρχονται κοντά στην ιστορία του τόπου τους και εντρυφούν στη συλλογική εργασία και τη σύνθεση. Η θερμή υποδοχή του προγράμματος από τους μαθητές και την εκπαιδευτική κοινότητα αποτελεί την πιο γερή βάση για την εξέλιξη και την περαιτέρω ανάπτυξή του».

The program has already been piloted in six public high schools throughout Greece, ενώ μέχρι το τέλος της φετινής σχολικής χρονιάς θα έχουν προστεθεί δώδεκα επιπλέον στους Νομούς Αττικής, Αχαΐας, Έβρου, Ευβοίας, Λασιθίου, Lesvos, Ξάνθης, Πέλλας, Ροδόπης και Σάμου.
