Romeo and Juliet in modern life

Romeo and Juliet in the computer age, in the age of great threats, in the age of modern "terrorism": THEKarabeti walnut tree suggests, for the 23 January (at 20.30) in the context of the Theatrical Analogy of the Ionian Center his "Juliet of Mackintosh".Stelios Lytra,choosing to oversee the direction and "read" the role of Juliet.
Project written 1991 by the writer and poet who passed away this summer 1993 – in age 41 years, tackles the Shakespearean theme, giving the heroes present-day faces. The case unfolds in the nightmarish atmosphere of an Orwellian-style totalitarian regime, with riot police clashing and young protesters. Juliet is an employee of a huge company that crushes her every day, while Romeo is a wanted "terrorist" who traffics electronic files with prohibited material. Το κλειστοφοβικό εσωτερικό αλλά και εξωτερικό τοπίο κυριαρχείται από οθόνες – είτε υπολογιστών, είτε τηλεοράσεων που προβάλλουν συνεχώς δελτία κρατικής προπαγάνδας, σκηνές υπέρτατης βίας και εικόνες πολέμου. Παίζουν ακόμα οιΔημήτρης Λάλος,Γιάννης Λεάκος, Ηλιάννα Μαυρομάτη, Chris Radanoff, Βασίλης Χατζηδημητράκης, ενώ στο βίντεο συμμετέχει οStelios Mainas.
Το έργο είχε ανέβει για πρώτη φορά το 2000 από το θέατρο Σημείο σε σκηνοθεσίαΝίκου Διαμαντή with herΙωάννα Μακρή στον ρόλο της Ιουλιέτας.

Βασισμένη στην ανεπίδοτη επιστολή του γάλλου θεωρητικού στον Χίλτερ, ο Τομ Πέκερτ συνέθεσε έναν ιδιαίτερο μονόλογο, στο πνεύμα τουΑρτό, που συνδυάζει ακραίες σκέψεις. Θα επαναληφθεί στις 23 and 30 Ιανουαρίου καθώς και στις 6 February. Start time: 21.30.
Subsequently, την προσεχή Τρίτη, 17 January (at 20.30), στον ίδιο χώρο θα παρουσιασθεί το έργο τηςΣόνιας Ζαχαράτου «Ο εχθρός μου». Το κείμενο τοποθετεί κάπου στον κόσμο άνδρες, γυναίκες και παιδιά, ήρωες μιας τρομοκρατικής πράξης. Η συγγραφέας επισημαίνει ότι«γύρω τους, μέσα στην παγωμένη αίθουσα, όπου έχουν εγκλωβιστεί, υπάρχουν όπλα και εκρηκτικά. Μια γυναίκα, με το γιο της στην αγκαλιά, εξαντλημένη από την κούραση, αποκοιμιέται. Ενας άντρας, δίπλα της, την ξυπνά και της μιλά. Είναι ένας από τους δεσμώτες! Τι μπορεί να της λέει; Ποια κατάληξη θα έχει η ομηρεία; Τι θα απογίνουν οι ήρωές μας;». Golden globes 2012: "Descendants" and "Artist" won

The "Descendants", the last film of the American director of Greek origin to dateAlexander Payne, is one of the big winners at this year's Golden Globes, which were presented Sunday night in Los Angeles, hosted by the British actorRicky Gervais, who unlike last year's award this year was sparing with vices.

The sensitive yet comical drama of a middle-aged man (George Clooney) who tries to find a way to communicate with his daughters knowing that his wife is dying, won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama (Clooney).

On the "opposite" bank, the category of best comedy or musical, the "Artist" – the mute, his black and white filmMichel Hazanavicius which has been on an upswing since winning at last year's Cannes festival – winning three awards: Best Comedy or Musical, best actor in a comedy or musical for the French actorJean Desjardins and music (Ludovic Burchett).

Too bad Alexander Payne didn't also win the Golden Globe for Best Director, since this award was given toMartin Scorsese for "Hugo", a homage of the director towards the cinema itself which will be shown in theaters shortly.

Another "old", TheWoody Allen won the screenplay award for 'Midnight in Paris', where he too looks nostalgically at something in the past, the old ones, good days of the City of Light.

THEMeryl Streepwon her eighth Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her performance asMargaret Thatcherin the modest but "Iron Lady" by Philinda Lloyd. Respectively in the comedy or musical, orMichelle Williams won for her work on Seven Days with Marilyn where she also plays a real person, herMarilyn Monroe.

The awarding of the Iranian director's film is fairAsghar Farhadi"A separation" but also that of the Canadian veteranChristopher Plummer who won the prize b’ male role for the film "The Rookies" where he played his gay fatherEwan McGregor.

Among the women, the black actress was awardedOctavia Spencer for the anti-racist film "The Maids".

If not all, most of these names will soon be heard again when the Oscar nominations are announced 2012.

Damien Hirst's dots travel around the world

Damien Hirst's famous dot paintings are taking the world by storm. The exhibition consisting of the artist's spot paintings are presented in eleven Gagosian galleries around the world. Among the cities visited by the exhibition is Athens.

The exhibition includes more than 300 tables, from the first dot painted by Hirst that year 1986, even his recent works and they bear strange names, such as "Cocaine Hydrochloride".

He himself has declared: “Imagine a universe of dots. Every time I create a painting I cut out a square piece of this universe. But the dots are reborn in the part I cut. They are all connected to each other".

Hirst, one of the most influential artists of our time, has made 1.500 overall spot paintings, while now a team of his assistants is working on a million-dot project that will take nine years to complete.

The projects are of various dimensions. Ξεκινούν από μισή κουκκίδα (2,4×1,2 cm.), ενώ άλλα είναι τεραστίων διαστάσεων. Παρουσιάζονται ταυτόχρονα σε έντεκα γκαλερί σε ολόκληρο τον κόσμο και προέρχονται από συλλογές και 20 διαφορετικές χώρες του κόσμου.

Παράλληλα με την έκθεση θα κυκλοφορήσει η έκδοση «The Complete Spot Paintings 1986-2011», η οποία αποτελεί μια πλήρη αναφορά σε όλα τα έργα με κουκκίδες που φιλοτεχνήθηκαν από τον Hirst στο αντίστοιχο διάστημα.

Η έκθεση «Damien Hirst: Κουκκίδες, η πλήρης συλλογή, 1986-2011» θα προηγηθεί της πρώτης μεγάλης αναδρομικής έκθεσης του έργου του Χερτς, η οποία θα εγκαινιαστεί στην Tate Modern τον Απρίλιο του 2012.

Σε αυτήν κεντρικό έκθεμα θα είναι το «For the Love of God», ένα ανθρώπινο κρανίο φτιαγμένο από πλατίνα και διαμάντια.

Η έκθεση The complete spot paintings διαρκεί έως τις 10 Μαρτίου και στην Αθήνα φιλοξενείται στην γκαλερί Bogosian, Μέρλιν 3, Kolonaki.

Το Αφγανιστάν του πολέμου και της μουσικής!

Μέλη της Σχολής φτωχά και άστεγα παιδιά

Ο πολιτισμός είναι βάλσαμο σε δύσκολες εποχές στους ανθρώπους που πέρασαν κακουχίες, they say. Αυτό φαίνεται να πιστεύουν και οι ιθύνοντες της μουσικής Ακαδημίας στο Αφγανιστάν που προσπαθούν μέσω της μουσικής να απαλύνουν ή τουλάχιστον να ελαφρώσουν τον πόνο των νέων παιδιών, που έγιναν μάρτυρες ενός σκληρού πολέμου.
Οι νότες διαδέχονται η μία την άλλη, στο διώροφο κτίριο στο κέντρο της Καμπούλ και το κλασσικό πιάνο δένει απόλυτα με τα βιολιά και το φλάουτο. Οι νεαροί μαθητές διδάσκονται μουσική, με την ελπίδα όπως λένε οι δάσκαλοι, να ξεχάσουν τις φρικιαστικές λεπτομέρειες του πολέμου που έζησαν και της φτώχειας που υφίστανται.
Ο επικεφαλής του Εθνικού Ινστιτούτου Μουσικής του Αφγανιστάν, Ahmad Sarmast, σε συνέντευξή του στο πρακτορείο Reuters είπε μεταξύ άλλων πως «έχουμε δεσμευτεί να οικοδομήσουμε τις ζωές των ταλαιπωρημένων αυτών παδιών μέσα από τη μουσική, δεδομένης της θεραπευτικής δύναμής της».
Η σχολή μετρά 140 μαθητές, με τα περισσότερα μέλη να είναι ορφανά και άστεγα παιδιά, τα οποία σύμφωνα με τον Ahmad, είναι παθιασμένα για την μουσική.
«Αυτή η χώρα είναι διψασμένη για την μουσική και την τέχνη γενικότερα, όσο είναι για την αλλαγή», κατέληξε ο δάσκαλος. Ενώ στη συνέχεια υπογράμμισε πως η χολή δίνει και υποτροφίες σε σχολές στο Εξωτερικό, όπως Βρετανία και Δανία, οι οποίες κιόλας χρηματοδοτούν τη σχολή.

The Almodovar Archive

Το κινηματογραφικό στυλ του Αλμοδοβάρ, τα σενάριά του, οι χαρακτήρες του έχουν εξελιχθεί ταυτόχρονα με την εικονογραφία του. Τα έντονα χρώματα είναι πάντα εκεί μαζί με τα έντονα πάθη, αλλά η γλώσσα της κινηματογραφίας του δεν είναι πια το επιτηδευμένο κιτς των πρώτων του ταινιών. Το Volver ας πούμε και το Δέρμα που κατοικώ είναι δύο καλά παραδείγματα για αυτό. Το πρώτο έχει εικόνες από την εργατική τάξη, από την πόλη και το δρόμο το δεύτερο από την ανώτερη αστική, από το σαλόνι και τα design έπιπλα. Και τα δύο όμως είναι κομψά, η φωτογραφία του και η καλλιτεχνική διεύθυνση είναι πια πολύ μακριά από το κιτς.
Τέτοιες φωτογραφίες έχει μαζεμένες το βιβλίο της Taschen The Pedro Almodóvar Archives και είναι πάνω από 600, από το προσωπικό αρχείο του Ισπανού σκηνοθέτη. Ξεκινάνε από το 87, από την εποχή του Γυναίκες στα πρόθυρα νευρικής κρίσης μέχρι τώρα το 2011. Οι λεζάντες είναι επίσης δικές του.
