Chick Corea and Gary Burton at the Athens Concert Hall

The Athens Concert Hall presents them Chick Corea and Gary Burton, a collaboration that jazz fans are looking forward to. The concert will take place on 15 Of March 2012 in the context of the Bridges series.

Chick Corea

If one considers the volume of his last discography 40 years, can not doubt that Chick Korea is one of the most productive composers of our time. From avant-garde to bebop, from children's songs to the avant-garde, from fusion to classical music, Chick Korea always maintains high quality standards in its work.

Has won 14 Grammy, while he was a candidate at least 50 times. The 2005 was awarded the Ruhr Prize in Germany (an award first given to a jazz pianist) and 2006 was named "New Jazz Master" which is the biggest distinction for jazz in the US.

Gary Burton

He was born and raised in Indiana. Self-taught in vibraphone, the genius musician Gary Burton 1971 became a professor at Berkeley College of Music in Boston (in percussion and improvisation), the 1985 was appointed Rector, the 1989 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the same College and 1996 appointed Vice President.

He won his first Grammy for his album Alone at Last (solo vibraphone) recorded at the Montreux Festival in 1971. Many other Grammy Awards followed (several from his collaboration with Korea) and was nominated for the same award 14 times.

He has a long and deep professional personal relationship with Chick Korea. Beyond their recordings, give many concerts as duos in America and Europe.

Nikos Moutsinas "My last victim was Notis Christodoulou"

Nikos Moutsinas, guest on "OLA" by Themos Anastasiadis, spoke for everyone and everything, giving his own answer to the sharp comments that Notis Christodoulou has made about him.

Helena Paparizou: She confirmed her participation in the Swedish DWTS!

With her statements on the esctoday website, Elena Paparizou has confirmed her participation in the Swedish Dancing With The Stars.

When asked what her next career plans are, the 30-year-old singer replied: "I will stay in Sweden for a few months. I'm going to be on a TV show". "It will be an entertaining show;the journalist then asked her and Elena Paparizou did not hesitate to admit that it was a dance show: "Yes! Is very funny, because in Greece I recently participated as a judge in Dancing on Ice and now I will be on the other side, I won't judge, but I will be judged - and I find this all very amusing" were her words.

New Ford Mondeo

After the new Focus, and the next generation of Ford Mondeo will be a global model, aiming to satisfy the diverse needs of a large number of buyers of the German family model.

Ford had declared it from within 2011 and parallel, he had shown it in practice, through the presence of the Frankfurt Evos prototype: The,now it's time to move on to the evolution of the design philosophy of its cars (i.e. of the famous Kinetic Design) and bring us future models with an even more dynamic and premium presence. And true to her schedule, Ford presented us with the new generation of Mondeo (or Fusion in the US) which we will see in Europe at its beginnings 2013 and which will be the first of the new models, which have been influenced by the new design philosophy.

Alongside, the new midsize Ford will be the brand's first global family, since it will be sold the same – only the name changes – in North America, in Asia and Europe.

Emphasized dynamism
Περισσότερες χυτές γραμμές, νέα μάσκα με μεγάλη γρίλια και μακρόστενα φωτιστικά μπροστά, αλλά και χαμηλότερη οροφή που ρίχνει κλεφτές ματιές προς τα 4θυρα κουπέ, είναι τα κύρια χαρακτηριστικά της παρουσίας του νέου Mondeo. Στο πίσω τμήμα, ο ανασηκωμένος όγκος και τα τραπεζοειδή φωτιστικά θυμίζουν το αντίστοιχο κομμάτι του τωρινού Mondeo, χωρίς πάντως να στερούν κάτι από το μοντέρνο ποιόν του αυτοκινήτου. Σε επίπεδο διαστάσεων, είναι νωρίς για να γνωρίζουμε τα ακριβή στοιχεία του νέου μεσαίου Ford, όμως αναμένεται να μην διαφοροποιηθεί σημαντικά σε σχέση με το σημερινό Mondeo, και ίσως μόνο η χαμηλότερη οροφή να κάνει τη διαφορά. Συνολικά πάντως, το νέο Mondeo αναμένεται να είναι ακόμη πιο δυναμικό και επιβλητικό σε σχέση με πριν.

Ακόμη πιο high-tech εσωτερικό
Το εσωτερικό του νέου Ford Mondeo μπορεί να μην έχει παρουσιαστεί και επίσημα, όμως δεν αναμένεται να διαφέρει από αυτό που μας έδειξε η εταιρεία στο αμερικάνικο Fusion. Εκ πρώτης όψεως λοιπόν, φαίνεται ότι, θα δούμε ένα αρκετά σύγχρονο αποτέλεσμα που θα εκπέμπει το υψηλό τεχνολογικό υπόβαθρο του αυτοκινήτου. Εντύπωση προκαλεί η σχεδίαση του πίνακα οργάνων, ο οποίος φαίνεται ότι θα έχει δύο μεγάλες ψηφιακές οθόνες εκατέρωθεν του κεντρικά τοποθετημένου ταχυμέτρου, για την απεικόνιση του στροφομέτρου, αλλά και του συστήματος πλοήγησης και τις πληροφορίες του trip computer. Αντίστοιχα high-tech στοιχεία ενσωματώνει η κεντρική κονσόλα, με την μεγάλη οθόνη πληροφοριών να δεσπόζει πάνω από το ηχοσύστημα της Sony. Στον ποιοτικό τομέα, αναμένουμε και πάλι υψηλά στάνταρ για τα δεδομένα της κατηγορίας, ενώ η Ford αναφέρεται ιδιαίτερα στο κομμάτι της σημαντικά βελτιωμένης ηχομόνωσης.

Στο επίκεντρο και πάλι οι EcoBoost
Στο νέο Ford Mondeo οι κινητήρες βενζίνης της σειράς EcoBoost που γνωρίσαμε στο ανανεωμένο υπάρχον Mondeo, θα είναι και πάλι οι μεγάλοι πρωταγωνιστές της γκάμας. Με turbo και άμεσο ψεκασμό, τα μοτέρ αυτά των 1,6 and 2,0 liter, θα συνδυάσουν την πολύ καλή απόδοση και επιδόσεις, με την οικονομία καυσίμου και τις χαμηλές εκπομπές CO2. Alongside, στη γκάμα θα υπάρξουν και πάλι οι κινητήρες diesel σε αντίστοιχους κυβισμούς με αυτές των βενζινοκινητήρων. Δεν αποκλείεται πάντως για πρώτη φορά στην ιστορία του το νέο Mondeo να λάβει και υβριδικές εκδόσεις, ώστε να προσφέρει ακόμη περισσότερη οικονομία και οικολογία κίνησης. In everything,τι αφορά στον Αμερικανό «αδελφό» του, το Fusion, εκεί έχουμε ήδη δει τις υβριδικές του εκδόσεις που χρησιμοποιούν για την κίνησή τους έναν βενζινοκινητήρα 2,0 λίτρων και έναν ηλεκτροκινητήρα. Η «απλή» υβριδική χρησιμοποιεί την ενέργεια που αποθηκεύεται στις μπαταρίες, ενώ η ετέρα, με την ονομασία «Energi», μπορεί να φορτίσει τις μπαταρίες και από μια εξωτερική παροχή ρεύματος.

H Αudi ενδιαφέρεται για τη Ducati;!

Φουντώνουν στο εξωτερικό οι φήμες που μιλούν για ένα πολύ μεγάλο «γάμο», αυτό της Audi και της Ducati. Εφόσον επαληθευτούν τότε έχουμε να κάνουμε με μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα συμφωνία.
Στο πλαίσιο επιχειρηματικών ενεργειών που έχει σχεδιάσει η οικογένεια Piech και για λογαριασμό της Audi, φαίνεται πως πλέον προστίθεται και το έντονο ενδιαφέρον της γερμανικής φίρμας να προχωρήσει ακόμα και στην απόκτηση του ελέγχου του μετοχικού κεφαλαίου της Ducati. Η διάσημη εταιρεία μοτοσικλετών πηγαίνει αρκετά καλά από πλευράς πωλήσεων σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο ωστόσο η ιδιοκτήτριά της, η εταιρεία Performance Motorcycles Spa φαίνεται να προτίθεται να την πουλήσει. In each case, υποψήφιοι «μνηστήρες» για τη Ducati δεν είναι μόνο η Audi αλλά διακριτικό ενδιαφέρον φέρονται να έχουν εκδηλώσει τόσο η Μercedes – Benz όσο και η ινδική φίρμα Mahindra & Mahindra.

Homegrown bands with English-language lyrics look to the future

Three interesting Greek English-speaking bands that have a present and especially a future appear in the coming days in Athens in two clubs to present their works.

The sound of Electric Litany can, Tango With Lions and Vokomolech may be different but this proves that young Greek artists have different hiring, different influences and mainly musical vision. There aren't many who disagree about the English verse. However, this does not mean that there are no worthy proposals that need our support.

Electric Litany with opening act Tango With Lions appear on Thursday 15 Of March, at the Gagarin club 205. Two different bands from two different countries will unite two diverse music scenes. The lo-fi culture of abandoned buildings, of the unpretentious emotions and dynamic robotic rhythms of Electric Litany will meet the acoustic folk collective of Katerina Papachristou and Tango with Lions in a live that, if nothing else, it will not lack atmosphere.

Electric Litany

After record silence 2 years, and approx 8 months after their last appearance here with Interpol, Electric Litany return to Athens to give us a first taste of their upcoming second studio album. The single "Enemy", released by Inner Ear, seeks the perfect balance between personal/social revolution and romance/love.

Tango With Lions

The intro to this quirky universe is taken on a more minimalistic note, the changing musical collective of Tango with Lions formed the 2007 from Kat (K. Papachristou), known for her collaborations with many bands of the English-speaking indie/alternative scene. With the soundtrack of her diaries and influenced by current affairs, from books, from her favorite movies and music, recorded with Ottomo at Fab Liquid Studios her first album called 'Tango with Lions', mainly in an acoustic style, with an American folk mood and a correspondingly introverted lyrical microcosm, in which Kat's special voice guides us in every corner, through the atmosphere of her songs.

Next Friday (16 Of March) Bokomolech appear at the Fuzz club with guests False Alarm with Scott McCloud.

The Bokomolech are here again! The Greek band will be on the Fuzz stage, presenting songs from his nearly twenty year career as well as the brand new album, «Mass Vulture», which marks their return to the discography after approx 9 years.

Special guest of the evening, ο Scott McCloud, front man of the legendary Girls Against Boys! Along with False Alarm, one of the most interesting new bands on the domestic scene, will present some tracks from the GVSB era, as well as new material.

Bokomolech

One of the best known and best groups of the Athenian scene, the Bokomolech (a name that is a portmanteau of that Ukrainian physiologist Oleksandr Bogomoletz, who, in the 40s, composed an elixir to prolong life to 140 years) they have seven to their credit, along with the upcoming one, releases.

Their debut, «Xero» (1995), is a milestone for the domestic Rock'n'Roll discography. Such was the sensation it caused, so that on two of their next releases Bokomolech found themselves collaborating with Steve Albini (Big Black, Shellac), one of the most iconic personalities of the American underground scene, who became best known as the producer on Nirvana's 'In Utero'.

After a slow but persistent process, the Bokomolech ended up choosing the 10 of tracks included on 'Mass Vulture', their brand new album released by Inner Ear. The Bokomolech are the: Dimitris Ioannou (voice), Vlasis Karagiannis (drums), Christina Kassesian (guitar), Lila Katerinaki (bass), Tasos Protopapas (keyboards / loupes), Kostas Ragousis (guitar).

Scott McCloud

Scott Mc Cloud is the lead singer and mastermind of Girls Against Boys, one of the most well-known and at the same time quality bands of the American scene of the 90's.

Very beloved by the Greek public, McCloud has visited our country several times in the past, both with his band and as a solo artist. With Girls Against Boys they laid the foundations for the formation of today's post-punk / dance audio. On Friday night, False Alarm will accompany him on vocals.

The latter resumed it 2010 (after a short try the 1998) and consist of S.Pyros D (drums / member of Rockin’ Bones), Kostas Oikonomou (bass), Konstantinos Kopanakis (guitar), Nikos Kopanakis (guitar) and Nikos Baltzois (voice).

They have already recorded their first single, the excellent 'Sell Me Something' (with Scott McCloud on vocals) / «Down I Go», which they will present live, along with material from their upcoming debut album.
