The Grand Prix of France returns

The return of the French Grand Prix to the calendar of the Formula 1 championship must be considered almost certain, as Bernie Ecclestone announced. The commercial director of the crown jewel of motorsport emphasized that the deal has been closed, while some details remain.

"The deal is closed. We have agreed the financial terms with the minister, David Dwight. Yet, we have some details to discuss, but there's no doubt we'll find it", were Ecclestone's words.

France has to host the Formula One 1 from 2009, while with this agreement the pilots will race at the Paul Ricard circuit for five years (2013, 2015,2017,2019 and 2021).

Panagiotis Toundas: 70 years since the death of the leading Greek composer – Tribute to Badminton

The Badminton theater continues the series of concerts "The Faces of Greek Song" with the concert - a tribute to Panagiotis Toundas on the occasion of the completion 70 years since the composer's death.

 Panagiotis Toundas is considered one of the leading pre-war Greek composers.

He was born in Smyrna 1884 from well-to-do parents, which gave him the opportunity to engage in music from an early age.

The above couplet of Touda's nephew, Lefteri Skordilis, it says it all about the importance and value of his songs.

Panagiotis Toundas started playing the mandolin and other stringed instruments as a child. From the beginning of the 20th century to 1919 conducts tours to Hellenistic communities around the world. After the Asia Minor Catastrophe, settles in Nea Smyrni and the 1924 takes over the management of the Greek branch of the German ODEON in Athens as of 1931, to jump to COLUMBIA and stay on as artistic director until 1941.

They will play at the concert for the tribute to Panagiotis Tounda: Andreas Katsigiannis (zither), Kyriakos Govedas (violin), Stavros Kouskouridas (clarinet), Municipality of Vougioukas (accordion), Kostas Meretakis (crust), Yiannis Plagiannakos (contrabass), Apostolos Valaroutsos (guitar, panjo), Philip Retzios (piano), Kostas Papaioannou (rule), Nikos Lyrras (oud, bouzouki, lute), George Zifkos (trumpet).

The songs will perform Yiannis Kotsiras, Martha Frindzila and the: Zacharias Karounis, Virtue Ketime, Panagiotis Lalezas, Thodoris Mermigas, General Aspasia. Helmet in the laundry

It may be that in most helmets the interior is anti-allergenic, antiperspirant and antibacterial, but this does not mean that we can neglect its cleaning.

Provided, sure, that the inner lining of the helmet is removable (even the cheeks), the process is simple and won't take more than a few minutes.

First we carefully remove the lining from the helmet, after first observing how it is placed and re-fastened, so we can install it after we're done. Our cleaning supplies are few and easy to find. A basin with water and a neutral soap (a baby soap can prove perfect for the occasion) they are enough for us. Under no circumstances should we go into a sanitizing frenzy and use chemicals or alcohol, as this will destroy the investment. The first step is to put the liner in the basin of water and let it soak for a few minutes. Then, rub it gently with the soap (forget harsh scrubbing, boats etc.), with special care. After we clean it up, rinse it and leave it in the water for a few minutes.

The final act of… laundry is to wring it out carefully and then let it dry. Attention! The easy solutions of the hair dryer and the heater should be avoided, as high heat can damage the lining.

Summer opening hours for archaeological sites and museums is proposed by the Ministry of Culture

Instructions to the general secretary of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, regarding the issue of the summer schedule of the country's archaeological sites and museums, sent yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Petros Alivizatos.

The undersecretary, recognizing the delay in the recruitment procedures of seasonal staff through ASEP due to elections, which does not allow the issuance of a relevant administrative act for summer hours, as well as the intense protests of the tourist world, requested the immediate implementation of temporary operating hours from 9.30 a.m. until 5.30 pm.

The temporary operation during the specified period negates the need for staffing in two shifts, in order for the spaces to function even after 3 pm.

The public will be able to visit the areas of responsibility of the Ministry of Health and Welfare from 10 a.m. until 5 pm, ξεπερνώντας με τον τρόπο αυτόν τη δυσχέρεια στελέχωσης που αντιμετωπίζουν οι περιφερειακές υπηρεσίες σε φυλακτικό προσωπικό.

Το ωράριο αυτό δεν ισχύει για αρχαιολογικούς χώρους που λειτουργούν ήδη με δύο βάρδιες και πέραν τις 3 pm, όπως η Ακρόπολη των Αθηνών, οι οποίοι συνεχίζουν με το υφιστάμενο ωράριό τους.

Alongside, ο υφυπουργός απέστειλε οδηγίες για την καλύτερη αξιοποίηση του υπάρχοντος φυλακτικού προσωπικού, ζητώντας την άμεση απεμπλοκή του από τυχόν καθήκοντα και εγκαταστάσεις που δεν αποτελούν αρμοδιότητά του και ζήτησε να αναπροσαρμοστούν οι εκτελούμενες υπηρεσίες, προκειμένου να επιτευχθεί καλύτερη φύλαξη τομέων.
