Polymorphia Public Art Festival: Street art in new adventures

Iconic artists and familiar Athenian signatures, live action on the streets and on the big screen: a new festival explores the diversity of art found in public space.
If you want to "unlock" the thinking of a city, she looked at her walls. If nothing else, Athens provides a lot of material. But there is a lot of room for development and we hope to contribute to it", we were told by founder of the Andreas Fakis Public Art Festival. "With this event, we wish to upgrade the urban landscape, the highlighting of the different forms of art that we find in the public space, but also for Athens to have an annual appointment that will showcase public art through various actions".
The curtain goes up this Saturday 27/9 in the Benaki Museum of Piraeus with the conference "Diversity: Art in public space", in which well-known visual artists will participate, architects and theorists, while the exhibitions "Like new!” and “More or less” with works by famous artists (John Fechner, The Atlas, Franco Fasoli, Anthony Lister ) but also familiar signatures of our everyday life (Greg Papagrigoriou, SNRS, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Cacao Rocks etc. ). October also brings new murals in the public space as well as a photo exhibition in "Romance", which will also host the Top to Bottom Public Art Film Festival, as well as the Film Archive of Greece.

Lectern 2014: Greek drama NOW, at the Art Theatre

The Art Theatre hosts a series of theatrical performances, through which modern Greek drama presents itself, Is the motto of the 16th Spare Parts Bazaar 3 until 7 October 2014, under her supervision Sissys Papathanasiou.

All these were and are the goals of the institution of analogies, which has already been established in the consciousness of the public and experts.
With the gaze turned "out. in the open", the proportions 2014 in their first event at the Art Theater under the artistic direction of Sissy Papathanasiou, select and present 7 brand new works by older and newer Greek playwrights. Directors, imaginative, musicians and a host of actors, the majority of which come from the Art Theatre, participate in the presentations which are framed by discussions with the audience and the contributors, laboratories, visual interventions and musical events, activities for children and round tables.
This year's event brings back the modern Greek work in the space that has been inextricably linked with contemporary drama and marks a new beginning for the institution.
The new start of the ratios is accompanied by the initiation of a series of new ones, innovative actions of international scope in Greece and abroad. “Ξένοι συγγραφείς, έλληνες συγγραφείς και η θεατρική κοινότητα του Θεάτρου Τέχνης”
Μεταφράσεις, παρουσιάσεις ξένων έργων στην Ελλάδα και ελληνικών στο εξωτερικό. Έμφαση θα δοθεί σε δραματουργίες και συγγραφείς από «μη ανεπτυγμένες χώρες», που είναι λιγότερο ή και ελάχιστα γνωστοί στην Ελλάδα.
ΙΙ. Πρόγραμμα Φιλοξενίας
“Ξένοι συγγραφείς στην Ελλάδα, έλληνες συγγραφείς στο εξωτερικό”
Εγκαινιάζοντας το θεσμό της φιλοξενίας, το καλοκαίρι 2015 θα υποδεχτούμε 2 συγγραφείς από το εξωτερικό σε καλλιτεχνική κατασκήνωση στην Ελλάδα. Στην κατασκήνωση που θα οργανωθεί με τη συνεργασία ελληνικών φορέων, του Amnifest Φεστιβάλ και Μορφωτικών Ιδρυμάτων ξένων κρατών, θα συμμετέχουν επίσης, μεταφραστές, actors, directors, critics, πανεπιστημιακοί, φοιτητές κλπ. The πρόγραμμα είναι ανταλλακτικό και οι αποστέλλουσες χώρες θα φιλοξενήσουν αντίστοιχα έλληνες.

International and local media presented the admittedly emotional concert of the great singer
Entering the courtyard of Herodion, you didn't see enough people. I wondered if the Greeks "forgot" the size of Nana Mouschouri and if the concert would be crowded.
But what was happening was that the eagerness of the Greeks to hear this great singer was so, so that - contrary to what we are used to as a people- they had come to the ancient theater much earlier.
The Herodion is suffocatingly full, with brilliant personalities honoring the great performer with their presence. Applause before he appeared, as if they want to welcome her.
And with what appeared in the marble "frame" of Herod, he was applauded for about two minutes by a standing audience. Yes, the Greeks adore Nana Mouschouri who brought Greekness to the ends of the earth.
With modesty, childhood sweet, Moushuri greeted her audience saying “
thank you very much, but I don't deserve the applause yet, the night must end first". And with too much sincerity he continued: “Six years ago, in Herodion, i said goodbye. The show goes on 18 and 19 Ιουλίου στο Αρχαίο Θέατρο Επιδαύρου και αποτελεί συμπαραγωγή του ΔΗΠΕΘΕ Πάτρας και της εταιρείας Aptivities.
Abandoned by his companions in Lemnos, ο Φιλοκτήτης έρχεται αντιμέτωπος μαζί τους δέκα χρόνια μετά, όταν επιχειρούν με δόλο να του αποσπάσουν το ανίκητο τόξο του Ηρακλή για να κατακτήσουν την Τροία.
Η τραγωδία του Σοφοκλή αναφέρεται στον ανθρώπινο πόνο και την εγκατάλειψη, the relationship between individual consciousness and politics, την προσωπική τιμή και το καθήκον.
"You hardly move the ancient poetic speech", τόνισε ο σκηνοθέτης σε πρόσφατη συνέντευξη Τύπου που πειραματίστηκε με τον Χορό και το «ένα στάσιμο της τραγωδίας».

Creation of a Greek sculptor adorns the park of Mount Royal

The imposing sculpture of the Greek Praxiteles Janoulinos, which symbolizes them Olympic Games across the globe, κοσμεί πλέον το πάρκο «Γαία» του δήμου Town of Mount Royal, περιοχής που βρίσκεται στα σύνορα του «ελληνοκρατούμενου» Parc Extension.
