Electric microbus VW Bulli

source: http://www.auto24.gr

VW presented the Volkswagen Bulli concept at the Geneva show in early spring. A microbus with a length of just 3,99 m., 1,75 μ. width and 1,70 meters high and has a wheelbase 2,62 meters. The Volkswagen Bulli was equipped with an electric motor that performs 115 horses and 260 Nm of torque. The motor draws power from lithium-ion batteries.

Volkswagen said the Bulli has a theoretical range of up to 300 kilometers, price that honestly, it's incredible for an electric vehicle.

Volkswagen Bulli needs 11,5 seconds to accelerate from the 0 στα 100 km. / time and the top speed is electronically limited to 140 km. / time.

By arrangement 3 +3 positions, Bulli offers cargo space 370 liter, which increases to 1.600 liters when all seats are folded.

The production version of the new VW Bulli is expected sometime in 2014, retaining most of the design features of the original. Volkswagen's goal is for the Bulli to retain the character it has as a prototype.

And among the features that the German brand wants to remain is the electric motor. Of course, the question mark is whether the electric motor that we will see in the production model will maintain the technical characteristics that we saw in the concept.

The 2014 VW Bulli is expected to be slightly larger than a Polo

New prices for diesel versions of the Seat Ibiza & Leon

source: http://www.zougla.gr

More and more drivers are choosing cars with diesel engines, wanting in this way to significantly reduce the cost of use. This is especially true in the countryside, where the use of a diesel car is allowed, unlike Athens – Thessaloniki where prohibited by law.

However, the concern that most prospective buyers have has to do with the prices of the specific versions. Seat offers its own proposal for dealing with this problem, which announced new reduced prices for the diesel versions of the Ibiza and Leon. So, the popular Spanish super mini with the engine 1.2 TDI Common Rail performance 75 horses, who consumes 3.8 liters of fuel per 100 km, is available with 13.995 euro (13.035 with withdrawal).

Respectively, the Leon with the engine 1.6 ΤDI Common Rail 105 horses, with consumption as well 3.8 lt/100km, offered at the price of 19.690 euro (18.260 with withdrawal).

VOLVO is closer to the environment

The Swedes managed to take first place among European car manufacturers in terms of reducing carbon dioxide emissions for 2010. This is according to the sixth annual survey carried out by the European Federation for Transport and the Environment (European Federation for Transport and Environment, T&E).

On average, Europe's eight largest car manufacturers reduced their CO2 emissions 2010 in percentage 2 – to 6 %. Volvo did not exceed this average by much, achieving a reduction of CO2 by 9 %!

Analysis by the European Federation for Transport and the Environment shows that European car manufacturers have achieved a satisfactory reduction in CO2 emissions and average fuel consumption in new cars. Overall, carbon dioxide emissions from new cars sold in the EU. decreased by 3,7 % the 2010 and today the average for new cars sold in Europe is 140 grams per kilometer.

As for Volvo, the maximum in this performance in the new 1.6lt diesel engine (DRIVe version ) return 115 PS, which they placed across almost their entire range, except SUVs and the S80. Especially the C30s, S40 and V50 in version 1.6 DRIVe the CO2 emission is just at 99 g/km (zero road tax in Greece), while the S60 1.6 DRIVe is just around the corner 114 g/km.

The Acropolis rally is even stronger on the world stage

source : http://www.zougla.gr/

The organization of top races by Greeks seems to be fully trusted by the world automobile federation (FIA), after its decision to include in its Acropolis rally 2012 and the WRC Academy category. Our national match will be the 6th round of the championship for the 2012 and will also count towards the PWRC class championship. However, the choice of Greece to host the second round of the WRC Academy raises the interest even more, given that the specific institution at its establishment (2011) had 20 participations.

Already with the calendar finalized, the Greek organizing committee has decided that it will support any Greek competitor who participates in the Acropolis Rally with a car of the category (Ford Fiesta R2 prepared by M-Sport), with the details to be defined in the near future. It is recalled that the WRC Academy is the "nursery" of tomorrow's WRC drivers, since it gives the opportunity to young people under the age of 25 years to participate in the world rally championship at a cost lower than that of the other categories, but also with a prize money of the order of 500.000 euro for the champion. Note that the Acropolis rally 2012 will be held on 24-27 May, while in its 58th edition it will once again focus on the city of Loutraki.
