The exclamation does not refer to its strict inside-out aesthetics or the rest of its conventional engineering. Not in his driving behavior but in the fact that in 1.165 we have kilos 250 Nm of torque in a range from 1.750 rpm up to 2.500 rpm from a 3 cylinder 1400 hp diesel engine. So you would think that in two seconds… we got rid of the 'phenomenon'’ – in terms of acceptance and commercial appreciation- Polo. Error.
Of course, since we have mentioned its design many times, let's remember once again the strict aesthetics but also the excellent distribution in the quality of the materials and the finish. The Polo is top in these areas and we honestly wonder when – for good- the new one is presented, how much more well-made it can be. But it is strict, very strict and the only imaginative element here is the…red body color.
Inside, the checkered seats can't make it look any newer than it is. And here the plastics are of high quality, we also have a couple of extra quality touches such as the chrome on the air ducts, or the leather and lacquer on the steering wheel. The overall picture is certainly severe, bordering on indifferent.
But the spaces are anything but indifferent. Especially the passengers have very good comfort in almost all dimensions, consequence of the classic almost cubed cabin approach, while the luggage space is good as well as those for small items, glasses or bottles.

Thessaloniki International Exhibition Center was flooded by automotive enthusiasts who came to see up close 20 different car brands, new technologies and nationwide premieres.
Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Citroen, Peugeot, Jeep, DS, Isuzu, Audi, Skoda, VW, That, Hyundai, Dacia, Renault, Nissan, Mercedes, Smart, Volvo, Land Rover and Jaguar presented their new models and also gave visitors the opportunity for on-site test drive.

New VW Golf GTD and Golf GTE

Starting with the refreshed VW Golf GTD, the 2 liter TDI diesel engine with 184 horses and 380 Nm of torque, who offers 0-100 km/h σε 7,5 sec (7,9 sec in the Golf Variant GTD). Fuel consumption is slightly reduced (4,4 lt/100 km -0,1 lt/100 km) with the station wagon Golf Variant GTD on fire 4,7 lt/100 km. Aesthetically, the updated Golf GTD has new positions of the front fog lights, "refreshed" bumpers, new LED lights front and rear, but also the upgraded navigation system and sports seats inside.

In the case of the updated Golf GTE, the plug-in hybrid model has the 1,400 TSI petrol engine 150 VW horsepower, which is combined with a powerful electric motor 102 horsepower and the 6-speed automatic double-clutch DSG transmission. According to the company, the Golf GTE can only be driven electrically up to and for 50 km, while his autonomy touches the 880 km. By design, we have freshened bumpers, while there is also a blue stripe on the grille of the mask, which passes through the new LED lights.

H… Cross view of the VW up!

THE VW δίνει στη δημοσιότητα τις πρώτες επίσημες εικόνες του Cross up!, της νέας, ιδιαίτερης εκδοχής του γερμανικού σούπερ μίνι, που θα λανσαριστεί μέσα στο καλοκαίρι του 2013.
Το νεότερο μέλος της… οικογένειας Cross, με αισθητικές πινελιές από οχήματα ελεύθερου χρόνου, είναι το σούπερ μίνι up!, για το οποίο είχαμε πάρει ουσιαστική πρόγευση στη διεθνή έκθεση της Φρανκφούρτης, the 2011. Όπως επιβεβαιώνεται από τις πρώτες επίσημες φωτογραφίες, το μοντέλο παραγωγής έχει ελάχιστες διαφορές στις λεπτομέρειες, από το πρωτότυπο Cross up!

Το μοντέλο παραγωγής θα κάνει επίσημη πρεμιέρα στο Σαλόνι Αυτοκινήτου της Γενεύης, στις αρχές Μαρτίου και θα λανσαριστεί μέσα στο καλοκαίρι του 2013, σε τιμές που ξεκινούν, για τη γερμανική αγορά, from the 13.925 euro. Τι αυτοκίνητο βασίζεται πάνω στο πεντάθυρο up! και διαθέτει αυξημένη απόσταση από το έδαφος κατά 15 millimeters, με μαύρα προστατευτικά πλαστικά περιμετρικά και ασημένια διακοσμητικά, όπως οι αντίστοιχες εκδόσεις Cross, των άλλων μοντέλων της μάρκας (Cross Polo, Cross Touran κ.ο.κ). Φορά 16άρες ζάντες αλουμινίου, με ελαστικά διαστάσεων 185/50, ενώ οι ράγες στην οροφή να είναι βαμμένες σε ασημί χρώμα.

Στο εσωτερικό υπάρχουν νέες επενδύσεις στα καθίσματα σε γκρι ή κόκκινο χρώμα, καθώς και νέοι χρωματικοί συνδυασμοί στο ταμπλό. Το τιμόνι είναι δερμάτινο, όπως και ο επιλογέας των ταχυτήτων και η λαβή του χειρόφρενου. Οι αλλαγές ολοκληρώνονται με τα χρωμιομένα διακοσμητικά.

Under the hood, συναντάμε τον γνώριμο τρικύλινδρο 1.000άρη κινητήρα απόδοσης 75 ίππων που συνδυάζεται με 5τάχυτο χειροκίνητο κιβώτιο, το οποίο στέλνει τη κίνηση στους μπροστινούς τροχούς.

Porsche Boxster S at the VW factory

VW acquired Porsche

After a long and special relationship between the two companies, the landscape is now becoming clearer, opening a new chapter in their collaboration.

The end credits of one of the biggest corporate "battles" of recent years have officially dropped. The 100% of Porsche shares now belongs to the VW group, in a development that a few years ago led to the opposite result, the acquisition of VW by Porsche. Be that as it may, the two companies have several common roots, with decades of collaboration. Most, with the completion of the acquisition they will be able to, beyond financial control, to share platforms, mechanical parts and technologies.

According to VW CEO Martin Winterkorn, "the path is now cleared, leading to a brilliant, common future. The even closer cooperation will allow us to strengthen the two brands and enrich our ranges with impressive, new models". He then added, “Porsche's unique brand will continue to grow successfully under VW's multi-company strategy. It will of course retain its own identity and operational independence, like all the companies of the group".
