Πιο κοντά στο περιβάλλον η VOLVO

Οι Σουηδοί κατάφεραν να πάρουν την πρώτη θέση μεταξύ των ευρωπαίων κατασκευαστών αυτοκινήτων σε ότι αφορά τη μείωση των εκπομπών διοξειδίου του άνθρακα για το 2010. Αυτό προκύπτει από την έκτη ετήσια έρευνα που διενεργήθηκε από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ομοσπονδία Μεταφορών και Περιβάλλοντος (European Federation for Transport and Environment, T&E).

Κατά μέσο όρο, οι οκτώ μεγαλύτερες αυτοκινητοβιομηχανίες της Ευρώπης μείωσαν τις εκπομπές CO2 το 2010 σε ποσοστό 2 – to 6 %. Η Volvo δε ξεπέρασε κατά πολύ αυτόν το μέσο όρο, επιτυγχάνοντας μείωση του CO2 κατά 9 %!

Η ανάλυση από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ομοσπονδία για τις Μεταφορές και το Περιβάλλον δείχνει πως οι ευρωπαίοι κατασκευαστές αυτοκινήτων έχουν επιτύχει ικανοποιητική μείωση των εκπομπών CO2 και στη μέση κατανάλωση καυσίμων στα νέα αυτοκίνητα. Συνολικά, οι εκπομπές διοξειδίου του άνθρακα από τα νέα αυτοκίνητα που πωλούνται στην Ε.Ε. μειώθηκαν κατά 3,7 % the 2010 και σήμερα ο μέσος όρος για τα νέα αυτοκίνητα που πωλούνται στην Ευρώπη είναι 140 γραμμάρια ανά χιλιόμετρο.

Σε ότι αφορά την Volvo, τα μέγιστα σε αυτή την απόδοση στο νέο πετρελαιοκινητήρα των 1,6lt (έκδοση DRIVe ) return 115 PS, που τοποθέτησαν σχεδόν σε όλη τη γκάμα τους, εκτός των SUV και του S80. Ιδιαίτερα τα C30, S40 και V50 στην έκδοση 1.6 DRIVe η εκπομπή CO2 είναι μόλις στα 99 g/km (μηδενικά τέλη κυκλοφορίας στην Ελλάδα), ενώ και το S60 1.6 DRIVe είναι στα μόλις 114 g/km.

Τη διοργάνωση κορυφαίων αγώνων από Έλληνες δείχνει να εμπιστεύεται πλήρως η παγκόσμια ομοσπονδία αυτοκινήτου (FIA), έπειτα από την απόφασή της να εντάξει στο ράλι Ακρόπολις του 2012 και την κατηγορία WRC Academy. Ο εθνικός μας αγώνας θα είναι ο 6ος γύρος του πρωταθλήματος για το 2012 και επιπλέον θα προσμετρά στο πρωτάθλημα της κατηγορίας PWRC. However, η επιλογή της Ελλάδας για τη διεξαγωγή του δεύτερου γύρου του WRC Academy ανεβάζει ακόμα περισσότερο το ενδιαφέρον, με δεδομένο ότι ο συγκεκριμένος θεσμός κατά τη σύστασή του (2011) είχε 20 συμμετοχές.

Ήδη με την οριστικοποίηση του ημερολογίου, η ελληνική οργανωτική επιτροπή αποφάσισε πως θα υποστηρίξει όποιον Έλληνα αγωνιζόμενο συμμετάσχει στο ράλι Ακρόπολις με αυτοκίνητο της κατηγορίας (Ford Fiesta R2 προετοιμασμένο από την M-Sport), με τις λεπτομέρειες σχετικά να ορίζονται στο προσεχές διάστημα. Υπενθυμίζεται ότι το WRC Academy αποτελεί το «φυτώριο» των αυριανών οδηγών WRC, αφού δίνει την ευκαιρία σε νέους ηλικίας κάτω των 25 ετών να συμμετάσχουν στο παγκόσμιο πρωτάθλημα ράλι με κόστος χαμηλότερο αυτού των υπόλοιπων κατηγοριών, αλλά και με χρηματικό έπαθλο της τάξεως των 500.000 ευρώ για τον πρωταθλητή. Να σημειώσουμε ότι το ράλι Ακρόπολις 2012 θα διεξαχθεί στις 24-27 May, ενώ στην 58η εκδοχή του θα έχει και πάλι επίκεντρο την πόλη του Λουτρακίου.

EPIDAURUS : A statue from Roman times was found

It was discovered in the surroundings of the Little Theater of Epidaurus, during the work being carried out, the statue of a naked man, which dates back to the imperial Roman times and possibly to the 2nd AD. century. Archaeologists cite the 2nd as a possible date, as at that time the Emperor Hadrian visited the city and created favorable conditions.

The statue is essentially a marble torso, the size of which is slightly larger than a physical body and represents a naked man, who is naked and standing with a robe thrown over the left shoulder and wrapped around the arm, which was found in very good condition. The statue has a soft body build, with exaggeration in the clean structure and swelling in the muscles.

The statue is inspired by the great sculptor Polykleitos and there is a possibility that it is a representation of the god Hermes. Archaeologists do not know if it is really a representation of the god or as has happened many times with other copies of the same type, by adjusting the head and face, which was the portrait of an important official of the time.

The area where the statue was found, presumably included the purchase of the ancient city. More specifically, it was found embedded in a makeshift building, which dates earlier than the 4th AD. century, near older buildings, which are assumed by archaeologists to be part of the wider ancient market of Epidaurus.

The works are carried out under the auspices of the Epidaurus Monuments Conservation Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. For the purpose of cleaning and maintaining the statue, it was transferred to the Museum of Asclepius Epidaurus.
