The Madrid Declaration was released by the Prime Minister's Press Office, following the Summit of the countries of the European south that took place today in Madrid. Alexis Tsipras took part in the Synod, along with the leaders of France, of Italy, of Spain, of Cyprus, of Portugal and Malta. We, the Heads of State and Government of Cyprus, of France, of Greece, of Italy, of Malta, of Portugal and Spain, we met in Madrid for the 3rd Summit of the countries of the South of the European Union on 10 April 2017. Following the 1st Summit held on 9 September 2016 in Athens, and of the 2nd Summit in Lisbon on 28 January 2017, we met again, this time in Madrid, in order to reaffirm our commitment to work together for a strong and united European Union. Together, we would like to reflect on our common work and contribute (we contribute) in the current debate about our common future.
